Laser Hair Removal: A Basic Understanding

Laser hair removal is one of the newest cosmetic procedures available today. The process is to permanently remove hair from any part of your body that you wish by the use of a light at a designated wavelength, which is projected into the skin by way of a laser hand held instrument.

What the laser accomplishes, after it's reached into the interior of the skin, is to focus on the hair's pigment. The laser destroys the follicle of the hair but does not damage the remaining hair tissue around it.

While laser hair removal can be quite effective and has been so for many, it is new, and, as compared with older hair removal treatments, relatively untested. What this means is that we really don't know yet just how safe or unsafe it might be and the potential for side effects. The other issue with the newness of this laser hair removal process is that no one has used it for long enough to have continuity of statistics that would indicate the rate of response to the laser hair removal treatment and the rate at which the hair grows back after each laser hair removal treatment.

Two of the most important elements to consider in qualifying potential laser hair removal candidates are skin color and hair color.

1. Skin Colour. Light skin makes laser hair removal easier to perform. Due to the lighter pigmentation, the laser hair removal results happen more quickly. Fewer treatments are required, and better, faster results are obtained. People with darker skin can be treated, but results are slower. They just have to be content with the knowledge that it will take longer to see results and a greater number of treatments are probably going to be needed.

2. Hair Colour. Laser hair removal works best on dark hair. The reason for the difference is the pigment pheomelanin, which is found only in red or blonde hair. It is very hard for a laser to penetrate pheomelanin. On the other hand, the laser goes easily through eumelanin, the pigment found in black and brown hair.

Treatment costs can add up to more than $1,000 as multiple treatment sessions may be necessary to obtain optimal results. This is largely due to the fact that laser hair removal is most effective for hair which is in the anagen phase (the growth phase). Since hair grows in cycles, not all of the hairs are in the anagen phase at any given time. Thus, more sessions are necessary to target hairs while they are in anagen.

How much and how long an individual respond to complete hair removal by laser hair removal differ from case to case. So, no hair removal clinics can guarantee 100% permanent results by a certain period. Consumers are nevertheless well advised, to consult with licensed professional and reputable laser hair removal centers.

Henna Hair Dye Things To Consider First

Henna is great for strengthening hair as well as being capable of bringing hair the world's most beautiful natural colors. Gorgeous shades of coppers, auburns, reds, cinnamons, brown and burgundies... Radiantly rich colors and a thick head of healthy locks with lustrous volume- what more could a girl want?

Now before you run out and actually henna your hair, there are some things to consider. Have you recently died or permed your hair? Would you plan on perming your hair in the future? If so, you may wish to rethink or hold off! Henna is great for your hair, but doesn't play well with chemical hair treatments. Unless you want to risk a head of green hair, or goodness knows what else, you really want to wait at least 30 days from your last perm or coloring. Also, once henna is applied to your hair, it is said that the color can remain for up to one whole year!

I even ran a little experiment just for the purpose of having this information to share. Hey, we're all friend here, right? I can take the risk of a head that looks like ripe lime for the team!

Now until this experiment, I have been dying my hair with henna for well over a year and a half. Prior to that, I was an avid permanent hair dye user, so I know how my hair reacts to permanent dye. Even with naturally dark brown hair and the occasional grays, my hair would take to dye very well- even with very light shades. For my experiment I waited 10 weeks from my last henna application and used my old favorite brand permanent dye in a light strawberry blonde color.

The results? As usual, my dark roots took to the dye like a charm, including my iridescent silver hairs. Now, the rest of my hair is another story... The entire rest of my head remained the very same EXACT color it was before it was introduced to the dye! The dye had absolutely no effect, even since it was a good two and a half months since my last use of henna. So from the conclusion of this experiment, we can gather that if you decide you want to go henna, don't plan on going back for a long time!

Another factor to consider is your desired outcome. Henna, even though it is obviously is a powerful sticking dye, is not capable of actually lightening your hair. Also, if you have lighter colored hair, the highlights in certain shades may be more intense. Sometimes it takes a few tries of different types of henna and herbal additives to achieve the exact shades you're looking for.

So is it worth it? Well, only each individual person can decide. There are those that try it and curse the names of those that introduce them to it for ages! Yet, there are many such as myself, that swear by it. Even after my experiment, it made me realize how much I don't miss chemical hair dyes. Yes, as a life long brunette, sometimes it was fun to be a blonde for a little while here and there. However the benefits of not having to trim my hair excessively every month from brittle split ends, the added volume and shine to my hair, and the fact I know I'm taking a safer route for my body and the environment, more than makes up for it. Besides, the whole cherry chocolate shade I've been using looks pretty good on me!

Hair Removal All About Depilatories

One of the easiest methods of hair removal is application of a cream or gel and wiping it off after some time to see the skin free of all unwanted hair. Depilatories are chemical based formulations that dissolve the keratin in the hair by breaking the disulfide bond. The hair weakens from the surface and can be easily wiped clean.

Depilatories are chemical based, so you will be looking for any allergic reactions. Read the instructions carefully before using the product and test it. put a small spot and wash it off after the given time. Wait for any reaction on that spot for a day and if you see no reaction on your skin, use it. Again be careful that depilatories are formulated in different strengths. You must not use high strength products on your face without reading the instructions clearly. One advantage of depilatories is that it can remove very coarse hair without much trouble. But since the hair is removed from the skin surface and not from the hair shaft, this method is very temporary. The hair grows back in very few days.

After applying the depilatory on your skin remove it in the given time or when your skin begins stinging. As the chemical dissolves the hair, it may also be hurting the skin. Don't forget to remove the product in the given time. If you begin feeling irritation after using depilatory, ask your doctor for a prescription cream to be used before applying depilatory. Your doctor may prescribe a very low strength steroid cream for that. If you have any skin problem, it is best to consult your doctor before using depilatory. A cheap and convenient way to remove hair, depilatory is surely a friend of those who are looking for hair removal.

A PlainEnglish Guide to Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal has become an increasingly popular method of depilation in recent years, for many good reasons. But like most other beauty treatments, it should be undertaken with caution and with a little bit of research under your belt, so here are the most important factors to bear in mind when considering whether laser hair removal is right for you.

First of all, what is laser hair removal? Unless you want to understand the physics of light, there's a very simple definition. In the hands of an experienced beauty therapist, a handheld device emits a particular wavelength of light, which destroys the hair without harming the skin that surrounds it. It's a simple technique that's easy to administer, and more importantly, unlike waxing or sugaring, it's relatively pain free.

There are, however, some disadvantages associated with this method of hair removal, and it's unfortunately not suitable for everyone. Because the laser destroys dark material, the hair to be removed must be darker than the skin surrounding it, so those with very fair hair might not be eligible for laser hair removal.

Recently tanned skin is also unsuited to this method of hair removal, so be careful to avoid the sun before you schedule your appointment. Any type of skin damage may be exacerbated by the use of lasers, so take good care of your skin before you take that trip to the beauty salon, and postpone your appointment should you develop any skin injuries, such as a rash, or a cut.

Laser hair removal is sometimes advertised as a permanent system of hair removal, and while this method of depilation often does yield long-lasting results, there is not yet enough evidence to support a blanket claim of permanent hair loss. Laser hair removal is most effective on those with paler skins and dark hair, and many people matching this description have found that regrowth is minimal, with new hairs finer and lighter than prior to treatment.

Laser hair removal is more expensive than other methods of depilation, and as the area of unwanted hair can require a number of treatments before optimal results are seen, the cost can quickly add up. But for those who regular spend a small fortune on shavers, waxing strips and other hair removal tools, the effectiveness of laser surgery can make it a real money saver in the long run.

It is important to remember that a laser can be dangerous in the wrong hands, so be careful to find a professional and reputable salon to perform your laser hair removal. Find a beauty therapist with whom you feel comfortable, and ask any and all questions you need to put your mind at ease. Don't be afraid to ask about your therapist's qualifications and experience - all laser hair removal practitioners should be licensed physicians or registered nurses.

Laser hair removal is an effective technique than can bring wonderful results. Relatively painless - expect a slight tingling sensation when the laser is in use - and long-lasting, laser hair removal is, however, a technique that requires skilled hands. Treat your skin with the respect it deserves and find a well-qualified and experienced practitioner to perform the procedure, and say goodbye to that unwanted hair.

Natural Hair Loss Product Proven in Clinical Trials

A drug-free hair loss product, from a surprising source, may be the new answer to thinning hair, alopecia, and male pattern baldness.

You have no idea what it's like, says Joe Rice, a 60-year-old professional from Fort Wayne, Indiana. I started losing my hair in my twenties. It's miserable. It has a way of shaping your whole life.

Joe's worn a toupee for years. No one sees him without it, not even his closest friends. He's tried just about everything to stop hair loss, including Rogaine and Propecia, without success. But deep down, he still holds out hope.

I know the drugs work for some people, but they didn't work for me, he sighs. Just show me one new hair, and I'm a customer for life.

A Serious Problem

Joe is not alone. Millions of men and women suffer in silence from alopecia, baldness and thinning hair. And while hair loss isn't fatal, it is a serious condition with profound psychological effects. For many, hair loss brings feelings of shame, despair, and crippled self-esteem.

New Hope from the Orient

Since 1999, a group of scientists in Japan, led by researcher T. Takahashi, has been studying botanical extracts looking for a safe, effective solution for hair growth. After testing over a thousand different extracts, they found three promising natural chemicals. One was from barley. One from Chardonnay grapes. And one- by far the most potent- was an extract from ordinary apples.

Move Over Minoxidil

One year later, the scientists announced even more striking findings to the international community. They compared the apple extract, known as procyanidin B-2, to the proven hair growth drug minoxidil in cell cultures.

Their results seemed almost impossible: in head-to-head tests, the apple chemical proved to be twice as effective as minoxidil in stimulating new hair growth.

In further experiments on mice, the apple procyanidins, as well as minoxidil, repeatedly produced extensive hair growth.

Proven in Double-Blind Clinical Trials

In clinical trials on humans, the results were even more exciting. The procyanidins from apples consistently grew new hair in men with male pattern baldness, the most stubborn form of unwanted hair loss- and without any of the side effects of hair loss drugs.

Scientists are normally conservative when it comes to conclusions. But the statements from the Takahashi group were unequivocal. Procyanidin B-2 therapy, they wrote, shows potential as a promising cure for male pattern baldness.

For Joe, and 60 million other men and women, this research means new hope. Of course I'll try it, he says. Just show me one new hair...

Essential Hair Accessory Tips

In the 80s, the hair accessory was invaluable. Almost every style involved some sort of hair accessory or embellishment to really set it off. Today, the hair accessory is not a part of everyday style and care should be taken as to when and how to use the hair accessory so that you will not look dated.

With that said, there are some occasions that scream for hair accessories: Work, social occasions and formal events may all have you searching for the perfect hair accessory to set off your look. While different occasions will call for different hair accessories, a good rule of thumb to follow is to choose the sedate hair accessory over one that could not go unnoticed in a crowd of a few hundred or a few thousand.

While choosing the right one can be tricky, there are a few pointers that you can follow to help you pick the perfect hair accessories to complete your look. Here are just a few:

* Work. In many work situations, you will likely have to wear your hair up. No matter if your type of employment requires it or you simply like to change your look now and then, wearing your hair up calls for the right hair accessory to do the job. The number one rule to finding the right hair accessory for work is to avoid banana clips at all costs. I mean, who still makes these things? Apparently they're making money at it or they wouldn't still be producing these torture devices of the 80s. Don't further their cause: stop buying this hair accessory. The second rule is to choose hair accessories that closely match your hair color or that blend nicely with it. Matching a hair accessory to your clothes is only cute when you are 5-years-old. What you choose will depend largely on your length of hair and how you like to wear your hair up. For French twists, choose hair accessories that resemble over-sized hair clips. Simply twist and clip.

*Social and formal occasions. In social and formal occasions you have a greater opportunity to express your artsy side through hair accessories. Again choose sedate pieces over garish hair accessories. Classy pieces can be perfect for social occasions, whereas a little sprig of flowers or garnishment may be needed for formal occasions. Formal occasions are the only time that is okay to match your hair accessory to your clothing. But still, do not go overboard. What attracts the eye should be the beauty of your hair, not too-busy hair accessories. If in doubt about what hair accessory or how much of it to include, opt for the simple solution: use as little as possible.

The bottom line with hair accessories is that too much of a good thing can confuse the eye and make your do look garish. Simple hair accessories, on the other hand, can make a bold beauty statement that makes your hair the talk of the office or party.

Here are some advantages of Laser Hair Removal : Save (few side effects), Less time (only take few minutes) and Long term result.

Although isn't guaranteed to be permanent, Laser Hair Removal work best on People with light skin and dark hair. Person with light skin are the easiest to treat requiring less sessions as the result are faster but person with dark skin or sun tanned skin take longer to get result because melanin, the dark pigmen in hair, is also present in skin.

Conclusion : If you want to get Permanent Laser Hair Removal I would suggest that you visit a laser specialist in your area.

Hair Raising Stuff

Definately without a doubt it was a new image that was needed for my summer holiday. I was sick and tired of looking like the queen with the same hairstyle for as long as I could remember.

Well that was all about to change as I went on a rampage emptying every shop shelf of every glossy magazine that I could find. That evening all engagements were cancelled with Coroanation St, Emmerdale and Eastenders. Sacrafices had to made as I was on a mission to find the new me.

Settled down for the evening with every brochure and mag at my side, flicking through every page not leaving one unturned. Surely there had to be a style in one of them that was going to help me in my quest in finding the new image that I so badly craved.

A couple of hours of browsing had elapsed, and low and behold there jumping out at me as plain as day was the most wanting to die for hairstyle you ever did see. This was it with out a doubt. The style that I knew was going to give me a new lease of life.

After a visit to the shops armed with hair colouring lotions conditioners scissors etc. I raced up the stairs to the bathroom missing every other step. I was so excited. Why would I not be excited? tomorrow I was to be a different person. No animosty spared between the old image in the mirror as I said my goodbyes

Smelling like a peroxide skunk I carried on following the instructions on the box. No matter how sweet scented that sachet of conditioner was it was not powerful enough to rid the odour that lingered all around. It was all going to be worthwhile I said to myself glancing down for about the hundredth time at the picture in the mag. Forty minutes was up and it was now time to rinse dry and style. (Enter the blonde bombshell)

Staring down at the picture in the magazine and back to my reflection in the mirror, told me something was wrong. Two styles couldnt be any more different.

I followed the instructions as prompted, where could I have gone wrong? I screamed. I will tell you came a voice from the other side of the bathroom door. It was my husband who on hearing all the fuss decided to check out what was going on. I will tell you what is going on I yelled back at him.

Explaining how I felt about myself I handed him the magazine with the picture of this fabulous hairstyle on this beautiful model. He looked for a long while at the photo and then back at me. Repeating this motion many times.

Darling I do not want to upset you he replied, but the reason that you will never have that look is because you do not have that face. So why not make do with what God gave you. I have made do with what god gave you for 34 years and I still like what I see.

Kacy is my name and I am about to take another route in my life, of which I know will be a challenge but what the heck. Life is all about challlenges. http://benidormbeaches.com

What Body Hair Do You Remove?

To remove body hair or not remove body hair - That is the question. And as with most everything, there are, (at least), two beliefs about what to do with body hair.

One belief is that you should not remove your body hair because it protects skin from dirt and germs, provides cushioning for sensitive areas, lessens the friction between skin and clothes, holds in heat to keep you warm when you need it and retains your personal scent, which may attract your potential mate.

Another belief is that you should remove your body hair because it holds dirt and germs, interferes with sensations in sensitive areas, causes friction between skin and clothes, and holds in heat which creates your personal scent, which repels everyone.

Some people, both male and female, believe because you're born with body hair, it's best to just let it grow. These people add that a big benefit is you don't have to spend your time or money removing it.

Other people believe just because you're born with body hair, doesn't mean you have to accept it. These people believe it's their body, (and hair), to do what they please and the big benefit for them is they say they look and feel better because they remove their body hair.

Since the human animal has walked this planet, body hair has played a couple of important roles. Before clothing, as protection and a signal of sexual maturity. Since clothing, a signal of sexual maturity.

Today, neither of these roles apply. And it seems even evolution is playing a part towards less hair.

It's a genetic fact that since the need of body hair as protection has become unnecessary because of wearing clothing, with each generation males have become noticeably less hairy.

Even though some males still believe that their body hair is a measure of their manliness, in today's world, being a hairy male does not represent being manly like it did in the past. In fact these days, most people, of both sexes, really prefer smooth bodies. So with body hair being useless, it's more than acceptable for a male to trim his body hair or even become a full body shaver - Especially if he has a lot of hair.

Now be honest - What's your response when you see a male with a really hairy chest or back?

Most males today have a better sense of how to project the most positive image and remove excess body hair, particularly on the chest and back. Removing chest and back hairs can be beneficial on both hygienic and aesthetic levels. A male with a hairless and toned body is very attractive to others.

Now be honest - What's your response when you see a female with bushy armpits, scraggly bikini lines and hairy legs at the pool or beach?

Unless you're in France, forget that hairy armpits on females is considered chic. Bushy armpits on males are not attractive either. Both males and females can improve their personal hygiene with groomed armpits. Bushy armpits generate extra heat, encourage the growth of bacteria and most often create heavier perspiration, resulting in an unpleasant odor. So whether you choose to just trim this hair or completely remove it, your armpits will tell onlookers that you're tidy and clean.

Now, with all of today's hair removal products, there's really no excuse for any, (conscientious), female wearing a skimpy swimsuit, not to be a body shaver. A female may have a beautifully shaped and toned body which looks great in a thong bikini, but the entire image will be ruined if there are scraggly pubic hairs sticking out.

To at least trim or remove hair in the genital area will not only improve appearance, it will also improve personal hygiene. Less hair in this area means less heat and consequently, less build up of bacteria and unpleasant odor. This holds true for males as well as females.

And - You won't know unless you try - If you remove the hair in the genital area, it may even enhance your sex life. Most people today say that if their partner's genital area were well groomed, they'd be paying more attention to this area. How about you? Do you prefer your partner's genital area neatly groomed or unkempt and hairy?

Most people would agree that we all want to look the best we can. Whether you choose to just trim your body hair or become a full body shaver, grooming your body hair is a basic step towards being more presentable.

Some hair removal methods are designed specifically for different parts of the body. But there is shaving tool that is specifically designed to remove hair from every part of the body. Do your own research. You'll be glad you did.

Bodworx International presents body hair removal tips and the latest data for removing hair from your entire body. Visit them at their body shaver website at http://www.bodyshaver.com for more information.

What are Hair Extensions?

Hair extensions, as their name suggests, are sections of hair added to your own natural hair, giving it added volume and length, even changing its style. Extensions can be real or synthetic. The most expensive and most natural looking extensions are made from human hair. Other alternatives are animal hair, treated human hair, and synthetic fibers.

Hair extensions are available in many different colors, textures, styles, and lengths. A skilled stylist can choose hair extensions that are virtually indistinguishable from your own hair. Extensions made from human hair can be styled after application. This enables wearers to have greater flexibility and naturalness in their daily style. Synthetic hair, on the other hand, is colored and styled before application and cannot be changed.

Hair extensions can be applied in a variety of ways depending on your needs and budget. For a fun, inexpensive, and temporary change of style, consider clip-on extensions. These are available at most department stores. Ponytail extensions are popular choices in clip-ons. Though clip-ons are generally not available in subtle color variations, they do come in all of the more common shades.

For a larger commitment in time and money, hair extensions can also be attached to hair by weaving, sewing, braiding, gluing, and tubing. Some of these methods can last from two to six months with proper application and maintenance. These methods should be performed in a salon. To determine which method best suits your lifestyle and your hair, do your research and speak to a qualified professional. For the health of your natural hair, make sure the person applying the extensions is a licensed cosmetologist.

With today?s new hair extensions, you can have long, luscious longs without the hassle of growing it.

Synthetic Fiber Hair Extensions Create Choice Hair Styles for Hair Loss and Fashion Clients

From the beginning of time, women have cared for their hair. As 2005's Most Popular Hair Extensions far back as 4000-300 B.C. Egyptian women and even men are shown with various wigs and elaborate hair styles. Hair is a contributing factor to ones confidence and serenity. Our culture strongly identifies femininity with a thick, lustrous head of hair. Images of full bodied, shining hair are synonymous with female attributes, sexuality, desirability and vigor. Thinning, dry, lusterless hair is identified with illness, old age, and poverty.

Every generation goes thru more and more transformations and capitalizes on current trends of Hair Styles. The big Hair Style trend these days is in full swing in Europe and is just starting to spread in the United States. It is the trend of Hair Extensions. Hair extensions involve the attachment of human or synthetic hair to your existing hair to create a more full or long look immediately. Hair extensions can add instant body, length to your look and can also help with hair thinning and hair loss situations.

There are many different methods of hair extensions on the market today, some good, some not so good. Mark Sharp, co-founder and creative director of Mark Glenn Hair Enhancement of London, England and Glenn Kinsey, co-founder and managing director have taken revolutionary steps in developing a fiber hair extension method that not only doesn?t damage the existing hair but can even improve the condition of the hair. They have transformed the lives of women who suffer from varying degrees of hair loss caused by conditions such as alopecia, trichotillomania, genetic factors, stress and post-operative trauma.

The Mark Glenn extensions, commonly known as MG extensions, use no glues, bonding solutions, threads, weaves, injections, and nothing is stuck on the head. They are attached using a very fine braid. A small section of existing hair is split into two. The fiber hair is also split into two to make the braid and is finally wrapped around the base of the hair, protecting it. The fiber is then sealed on itself using a heat tool (which is no hotter than a typical pair of curling tongs or crimpers). This creates a tiny plastic seal. It's important to point out that during this process, your own hair is safely cocooned inside the fiber so it doesn't come into direct contact with any heat. Therefore, your own hair stays in perfect condition. For hair loss or thinning problems, the extensions are applied with non-allergic mesh and the fiber hair is woven thru the mesh to create the look.

Glenn Kinsey of Mark Glenn Hair Enhancement has joined us today for a brief question and answer session on their fiber hair extensions.

Welcome Glenn and thank you for joining us today! We have a few questions for you about your wonderful hair extensions.

Question: I understand that you and Mark have previously worked with human hair extensions. Why did you switch to synthetic fiber extensions? Answer: Several reasons:

1. Weight - human hair is twice the weight of fiber and therefore feels ?heavy? on the head ? at its worst, this increased weight and stress on the hair can cause ?traction alopecia?. In addition, human hair is porous ? it soaks up water ? which can significantly increase the weight when wet.

2. Tangle ? human hair tends to ?matt? and ?tangle? ? this is because the surface of human hair has little ?spines? on it, that look like roof tiles under a microscope. Because this ?alien? hair isn?t being conditioned by the natural oils that condition your own hair, these ?spines? tend to ?stick out? and tangle up with the other hairs on your head. Consequently, you do need to use quite intensive conditioners to keep the hair in good condition. Fiber, however, has a smooth surface and therefore is less likely to tangle.

3. Glue - human hair extensions are typically applied with glue and removed with acetone ? a recipe for damage, the results of which we regularly see in our studio. Our method doesn?t use any chemicals.

4. Colour match - a stylist using human hair would typically take a swatch of the client?s hair and send it to a human hair supplier who would then pick the closest colour from a specific range. We actually colour-blend our hair with the client in front of us ? taking into account all the different subtle shade shifts that may exist in their hair ? to get an absolutely perfect match

5. Ethics ? there?s a great deal of mystery surrounding the origins of human hair used in extensions and it?s very difficult to track the exact source. A common source for top quality hair is from female Russian prisoners, for example

6. Look and feel ? fiber looks and feels just like real hair but is much kinder to the hair and is much easier to style and take care of.

Question: What percentage of your clients gets hair extensions for hair loss issues versus fashion? Answer: The split is approximately 50/50

Question: You have developed your own branded method (MG extensions) for applying fiber extensions. What is unique about your method in comparison to other methods available? Do you plan to patent your application method? Answer: We have a proprietary technique for working with female hair loss, for which clients visit us from all over the world. For fashion purposes, we?ve amalgamated several different methods and added our own unique adaptations to create a technique that creates a beautiful look

Question: Why do you feel that fiber extensions are superior to human hair extensions? Could you apply human hair extensions using your method if a client really preferred human hair? Answer: See above. Apart from using pliers and a metal clip (which is great fun through airport metal detectors and very uncomfortable when you lay your head on a pillow!) the only way to apply human hair is with glue.

Question: What training and education is involved for stylists doing MG extensions? Answer We work in teams of two people ? a ?lead? and an ?assist?. Team members start out as an ?assist? and then, after about 12 to 24 months, progress up to a ?lead?. ?Leads? are the ones that direct the work. Our training is very intensive and ?on the job? to allow team members to experience the bewildering array of both styles and techniques, as well as the differing types of hair loss they may encounter.

Question: What are the legal requirements in England for doing hair extensions? Answer: Sadly, there are no specific legal requirements for hair extensions over and above those for a normal hair salon.

Question: What are the minimum requirements for someone wanting hair extensions? Length of hair? Stable hair loss? Have you turned down clients for hair extensions and why? Answer: We regularly turn away clients no matter how much they want hair extensions, if we don?t think it?s going to look sensational! For fashion work, the main reason is length of existing hair ? for the best results, the clients hair needs to be at least 4 to 6 inches long. This is because you need existing hair to conceal where the extensions are attached. For our clients with hair loss, there can be a whole range of reasons, from too little existing hair to hair loss that hasn?t ?stabilized?.

Question: There are some hair extensionists that don?t recommend getting fiber extensions because of esthetic reasons. Can you describe the quality of the fiber hair, where it is made and why these recommendations are not valid? Answer: We only use a beautiful, hand-made fiber that is absolutely undetectable from the real thing in look, feel and behavior. It?s actually more expensive than some human hair! Cheap fiber is truly awful, akin to ?Barbie-doll? hair. You only tend to spot bad extensions ? we pride ourselves on the fact that, in general, no-one even suspects our clients have extensions and we have a large number of celebrity clients that, in some cases, even the media haven?t spotted that their hair isn?t their own!

Question: You mention on your website, http://www.markglenn.com that the fiber extensions do not damage your hair and can even improve the condition of your hair. Can you explain how they can improve the condition of your hair? Answer: First of all, we don?t use any chemicals. Secondly, your own hair is ?cocooned? and protected inside the extension and continues to grow as normal. Thirdly, when the extensions are removed, they just slide off your hair leaving no mess or residue. Because your hair has been protected in this way over a few months, the condition of your own hair often improves.

Question: What is the maintenance schedule for fashion and hair loss fiber extensions? What happens if you do not follow the maintenance schedule? Answer: For fashion, you?d need to either remove the extensions after three months or have them removed and replaced. Initially, the extensions are attached at the base of your hair. However, your hair will grow at around half an inch a month so the extensions start to grow down your own hair. If you leave it longer than 3 months, there?s a risk that the newly grown hair above the extension may start to matt and tangle and, in the worst-case scenario, dreadlock. For hair loss, the particular technique we use demands that clients visit us every six weeks for similar reasons ? the ?mesh? can start to feel a little loose if it?s left for much longer than 6 weeks.

Question: If someone has very thick hair and wants only to lengthen it, why wouldn?t you just apply the extensions to the ends of the hair, instead of at the roots?

Answer: Because you?d see a ?bump? where the extension is attached.

Question: Can you treat fiber extensions the same as your own hair? I.E. shampooing, conditioning, curling, brushing, etc

Answer: Yes ? wash it as normal, blow dry, curl, condition, brush ? just like the real thing. And because the fiber is actually non-porous, you don?t need to use expensive products on the hair, e.g. conditioners, because they?ll have no effect on the extension hair itself. The only thing you have to avoid is direct, sustained heat e.g. hot-iron straighteners etc. Rollers etc. are fine.

Question: Are there any restrictions? Can you color or perm the fibre extensions? Answer: You can?t perm the extensions but you wouldn?t need to ? you can achieve the same look using rollers, for instance. Colour has no effect on the extension hair, again, because it?s non-porous. This is great for clients who continue to have their ?roots? done, in the knowledge that the colour won?t affect the extension hair.

Question: On an annual basis, what would a typical client pay for Fashion and Hair Loss Fiber extensions including maintenance schedules? Are the majority of the costs associated with cost of the materials or the labor? Answer: Costs do vary from head to head and style to style. Since we have two people working on a client?s head at the same time, cost is predominantly based on the amount of time it takes with each particular client. On average, a fashion client would pay around GBP ?1,500.00 per year and a hair loss client, around twice as much. And bear in mind that you don?t need to visit a hairdresser since we take care of all this during appointments.

Question: Your Hair Loss fiber extensions qualify for funding from medical plans in England. Did you have to go thru a certification process for this funding? Have any of your clients outside England received payment from medical plans in their country? Answer: Because of the way the UK health system works (which is funded by the Government) it very much depends on the attitude of local health authorities rather than a specific ?test?. Some health authorities are happy to fund their patients, whereas others are not, preferring the cheaper option of providing wigs. We?ve yet to have someone from outside the UK who?s funded by a health plan etc.

Question: Do you plan to offer training to stylists outside your salon so that other salons in the world can offer MG Extensions? Answer: Not at present, although it?s something we may consider in the future.

Question: Are there reputable salons in the US that you would recommend? Answer: Since the majority of our techniques were developed in-house and are therefore unique to us, it?s unlikely you?d find anyone locally who does things in quite the same way. The fact that, currently, we have clients that visit us from 14 different countries, seems to confirm this. I so wish I could recommend others, but we simply haven?t yet come across anyone who provides a similar result to a similar standard

How to Get Long Sexy Celebrity Hair Styles in Just a Few Hours

You see them on the cover of magazines, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston, Faith Hill, all with long sexy beautiful hair styles. Does it seem like just yesterday they had much shorter hair?

With the advent of hair extensions, you too can achieve these glamorous long celebrity hair styles and have long hair in just a few hours. Maybe you are not preparing for your next movie role, or the cover of a magazine, but you can certainly take advantage of this popular trend to get instant long, thick and even highlighted hair.

Hair extensions involve attaching human or synthetic hair directly to your natural hair using one of many different methods. The extensions offer a natural, looks like it grew out of your head look that can quickly fix hair issues such as a bad hair cut, thinning hair or just give you long hair when you want it.

Hair extensions come in many shapes, sizes and prices. They are not a one size fits all type of product. Research into the various methods is essential to have a successful outcome. There are different hair extension methods for thinning hair, thick hair, curly hair, straight hair and more.

These six steps to hair extensions covers all the bases for researching hair extensions.

Step One: Determine if hair extensions are for you. Do your research on what is involved in getting and maintaining hair extensions and what they cost.

Step Four: Select a salon that offers the method your are interested in and make an appointment for a consultation.

Step Five: Check the salon and stylist out. Are they qualified to do hair extensions?

Step Six: Schedule your appointment to get the hair extensions. Understand what you must do to care for your brand new long hair style.

Permanent Hair Straightening

The most recent and advanced method of permanent hair straightening is known as Japanese hair straightening (also called thermal conditioning). This system was brought to the U.S. from Japan in 1998. It?s kinder to the hair than the old treatments which used hydroxides and lye. Various supporting products and treatments have been developed since 1998 which make this the premier hair straightening technique.

How do I know if hair straightening will work for me?

Look for a hair stylist who is specifically trained to work with hair straightening. She?ll be able to assess your hair and give you a recommendation. Not all hair types are suited for traditional straightening, but the new Japanese hair treatment will work well on almost everybody?s hair.

The first step is to do a strand test of your hair. This will determine the best strength of the relaxer to be used. Your stylist will also examine your hair?s texture, elasticity, and porosity, and will assess any damage present.

What hair products are used?

There are 5 kinds of hair products used:

?Chemical hair relaxer formula
?Neutralizer
?Petroleum cream
?Shampoos designed specifically for relaxers
?Hair relaxing conditioners

These will be customized to your hair?s requirements.

How long does it take?

Anywhere from 3 ? to 6 hours. There are 4 main steps to the procedure:

1.To avoid any chemical burning, a protective petroleum cream may be applied to protect the scalp and also to your hair it it?s been previously relaxed or damaged.

2.A chemical hair relaxer is then applied to loosen, soften, and relax your natural curls. If your hair is overly porous or slightly damaged from being previously over-processed, your stylist may use a conditioner-filler before applying the relaxer. The relaxer is left on for the right amount of time for your hair, and then thoroughly rinsed out with warm water.

3.Then a neutralizer is applied to your hair to oxidize and restore its pH level. This is because if the relaxer created too high a pH (too alkaline), your hair could swell and break.

4.Next, a conditioner is applied. There are two types, the cream conditioners and the protein or liquid conditioners. The best type will be used for your hair, to restore some of its natural oils.

Post-relaxing hair care

If a mild hair relaxer is used, such as Ammonium Thioglycolate, known as ?thio?, there is little risk of your hair being damaged. However, any hair that has been relaxed will need special ongoing care, both to protect the hair and to retain the effects of the straightening.

Relaxed hair becomes a lot more dry. So you should limit your use of hot blow dryers and hot styling tools. And since relaxed hair is also more porous, be sure and rinse all shampoo out very completely. Use a shampoo that?s designed for relaxed hair.

Relaxed hair tends to break more easily, so be sure and use a good deep conditioner at least once a week. Also use a good leave-in conditioner after shampooing. Conditioners will coat the hair and restore oils and proteins that were stripped by the chemical processing. This smoothes the damaged outer surface of the hair and makes it more shiny.

When combing out tangles, do it very gently. Use a wide-tooth pick and start at the ends, working in towards the scalp.

What about touch-ups?

Many people like to have their hair professionally straightened at a salon, but like to do relaxing touchups at home. This can work well, as long as you?re very careful to apply the touch-up only to the new growth. Don?t apply it to the previously relaxed hair because that will possibly cause it to break.

According to Jacquelyn, the office manager at Salon Cabochon in Sacramento, California, hair straightening has become very popular. Our curly-headed clients enjoy the dramatic change that hair straightening can offer, she said recently. ?It gives them a whole new feeling about themselves.?

New Hair Styles for 2005 Summer Hair Trend

A variety of hair styles, colors, and trends are growing in popularity for 2005. New hair styles for 2005 include hair of varying lengths, from curly and wavy to sleek and straight. Some of the old standbys from 2004 are still going to be popular in 2005.

The straight look is still in. The messy look and the shabby chic look are also still going strong. The soft wavy look is one new addition to the in list that has been growing in popularity this season.

This season, one of the hottest looks is a short cut. Not just any short cut though. The newest version of the short hair cut is longer layers and fringe in the front with the back cut in shorter, softer layers. The great thing about this style is that, even though it is short, you still have a variety of options when styling it. It can be worn straight and smooth for a more sophisticated look. If a more youthful and fun look is in the cards for your day, simply tousle the layers for a more wind blown, wavy look.

Your hair?s texture is also an important part of the cut and style. Layers and soft edges give a cut the versatility that it needs to hold more than one style. Razor cutting is a terrific way to accomplish the flipped, wild look that celebrities like Meg Ryan wear. Using sculpting gels and waxes can give you a chunky layer look that separates and holds your layers in place. For a smoother, sleek look, layers can be blown dry to lay flat and soft against the face. Smoothing gels can help to keep hair smooth and free from frizz for hours at a time.

Although cut and texture are an important part of having a trendy, up to date short hair style, maintaining shiny, healthy hair is always a must.

Whether you wear your hair curly, wavy, or straight, a healthy shine is your hair?s best accessory. For this season, a product that adds shine to your hair is a must have.

To maintain a trendy and fashionable look for this season, color is the key. In Eastern cultures, hair color choice is not just a statement about our fashion savvy, but also is essential in showing our inner self and desires. Since red symbolizes strength and vitality, it is not such a surprise that most women today would pick red as their first choice of hair colors.

Red certainly is a trend this season, and that means all shades. Anything goes from burgundy to strawberry blonde on into the copper hues.

As a matter of fact, reds are beginning to replace blonde as the most popular hair color choice.

Color highlights have been popular for while and will continue to be popular this season. This type of hair coloring works particularly well on the layered, shorter haircuts. So, go ahead. Try whatever floats your boat. As I said before, this season, anything goes!

Should Guys Shave Their Pubic Hair?

Should guys shave their pubic hair? Let?s try to put this into context shall we. Males, why do you bath or take a shower? Why do you comb your hair and hopefully brush your teeth everyday? Hmmm, let me think. Could it be that you do all of this because you want to look and feel your best? Maybe you want to look good so that the person you have a crush on will notice you more. Grooming one?s self seems to make a little more sense now, doesn?t it?

So if someone came up to you and asked you this; ?Should guys wash their feet every day?? What would be going on in your head?

Now some males would argue with me by saying; ?Yeah but washing your feet is not the same thing as shaving your pubic hair. We have to wash our feet; otherwise they would stink like hell!? Really? So in that case, leaving your pubic hair un-groomed so that the sweaty odours can linger in-between them is different, right? Even though we all know that no matter how many times you scrub and clean down there, the musky, sweaty smell just seems to stay. All of this is totally different to stinky feet, right?

Yes, Guys should trim or shave their pubic hair. It is not an un-manly thing to do. Nobody is asking you to have the most elaborate pubic hair style. I think for your partner, it would be really nice to know that you have done everything you can to make your pubic area welcoming in terms of hygiene and presentation.

Electrolysis Electrifying Hair Removal

Electrolysis is a hair removal process that works by inserting a fine needle into the hair follicle, (the skin depression from which the hair emerges), and disabling the hair root either by heat or chemical action and sometimes both at the same time. Each hair is treated individually.

Electrolysis is most suitable for removing female facial hair, but it can be used on almost any part of the body. There are millions of people who have solved the embarrassing problem of excess hair with the help of the hair removal method of electrolysis.

Electrolysis hair removal was developed around 1869 by an ophthalmologist, a medical doctor specializing in the treatment of diseases of the eye, Charles Michel, who sought a way to safely and effectively remove ingrown eyelashes which frequently caused blindness.

Electrolysis hair removal was adopted by the medical community and then adapted as a treatment for excess hair removal on other parts of the body. The same basic technique, improved and modernized, has been used since those times.

Hundreds of scientific articles published in medical literature state that hair removal by electrolysis is permanent. But - There's also scientific evidence that regrowth can occur when a new root cell is formed in the same area.

Hair removal by electrolysis should be performed at a reputable clinic by a trained and state licensed electrologist.

Compared to other hair removal methods, electrolysis is time consuming. Depending on how fast your hair grows, it usually takes regular weekly or monthly visits for up to a year to complete the process.

Hair removal by electrolysis is painful, even with a topical anesthetic. Some describe it as a slight heat, tingling or stinging sensation.

Don't hesitate to let your electrologist know if what you're experiencing is uncomfortable. They're trained to work within your comfort level. There are machine settings or the type of treatment that can be adjusted.

There usually is some redness or swelling and occasionally some pinpoint scabbing and even scarring following electrolysis hair removal. Ask your electrologist what you can do to help the healing process.

And hair removal by electrolysis is expensive. Usually there's a rate of $25 to $100 per hour. And if the procedure takes longer, a lower hourly rate doesn't always mean a lower cost.

If you'd rather not endure the pain, time, cost, and possible scarring of electrolysis, do some research to learn about alternative hair removal methods.

Getting Hair Extensions Step 5 of 6

Hair extensions: Step 5 of 6 for getting hair extensions

Check the salon and stylist out
After you have been to all of your hair extension consultations, you will need to sort out all the information so you can decide which method and which stylist/salon to go with.

Before you make your decision, you will need to check out the salon and stylist. There are several different places to go.

1. Verify with your State Board of Cosmetology that no complaints have been filed against the salon or stylist. FYI--There are some US states that do not require a Cosmetology license to do hair extensions. If the stylist does not have a cosmetology license, then the State Board would not record any complaint.

A complete list of links to each State Board is included in the #1 Best Selling E-book, 2005's Most Popular Hair Extensions.

2. Verify with the hair extension company that the stylist is indeed certified and trained by them.

3. Verify with your local Better Business Bureau that no complaints have been filed.

4. Do an Internet search for the stylist and/or salon to see if they are mentioned in any hair extension forums. Email us at editor@hairresources.net to see if we have had any complaints about the salon

5. Check references if the salon has given you some. This is a touchy subject since most salon clients that get hair extensions do not want everyone knowing that they have them. Also, many stylists feel it is unprofessional and inconsiderate to be passing out their clients names and phone numbers.

Another thing to consider when it comes to references is that what stylist in his/her right mind would give out the name/number of a client would give them a bad recommendation?

6. Make a Pros and Cons list for each stylist. Include all the important facts that you have compiled from your research and your consultations. If you have additional questions, call the stylist back, or search online for the answers.

Hair extensions are a big investment and you should take the time to check out the stylists qualifications and the salon's reputation. Avoid major disasters by being prepared

Natural Haircare Part 1

Extra volume, extra shine, anti-dryness, anti-split ends, curly hair, straight hair, frizzy hair, flat hair. The choices are endless when trying to select the right shampoo. And in the ned, all of them are filled with unescesary chemicals.
Take any shampoo from the drugstore and read the lable. You will most likely find isopropyl, a solvent that dehydrates and irritates your skin, is known to increase aging and can damage your immune system; propylene- and butylene glycol which can penetrate your skin and weaken your protein structure, among other things. And those are just two of the forty-something ingredients found in shampoo.

So what does one do to maintain a beautiful head of hair without damaging the scalp or the enviroment?

There are plenty of alternatives.

The first one is to stop using shampoo and simply use apple cider vinegar and baking soda. I use this method and my hair is reborn! My hair has a fine texture, but I have insane amounts of it, so it was always flimsy and very difficult to set. After I switched from a hair-salon shampoo to vinegar and baking soda my hair has become silky, smooth and soft and is incredibly easy to set, even in very elaborate hairdos with minimal use of styling products.

To wash your hair this way, mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with 2 tablespoons of water and apply it to your roots. Massage well to increase bloodflow to your scalp. Let it rest for a few minutes and rinse it out.
Next, mix about 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar wit 0.5-1 cup of water depending on the length of your hair. Pour it over the ends of your hair, let it rest for a minute and rinse.

Done! That's all there is to it.
If you are not quite ready to take the leap and stop washing your hair, a good option is to change shampoo, and perhaps decrease the frequency of using it. Ask any hair expert and they will tell you that you should avoid washing your hair more than once or twice a week.
Go to your local health store and ask the clerks. You will want a shampoo with as little content as possible, something that would suit hyper-allergy. It doesn't have to be expensive, but remember that decreasing your hairwashing and using less shampoo will make a bottle last longer.

2006 Most Popular Hair Styles for Men and Women

Every year hair cut styles change slightly as change marches on and since the only thing constant is change if you do not change with the haircut styles you will find it difficult to win friends and influence people.

Speaking of friends; the television show; ?Friends? was certainly a trendy set of haircuts for 2005 wasn?t it? But Friends TV sitcom series is no longer in style and those haircuts will soon be ?has been? styles. You do not wish to be caught rolled over in your SUV and dead on arrival with an old haircut style do you?

For older men the Ronald Reagan haircut style is coming back in, especially as more balding men are working to get their hair back and as they do, they will want to show a healthy head of hair indeed. But believe it or not ?Bald? will be back in too in 2006 and the Howard Stern ?Shocked? jock look. You can achieve this I am guessing by waking up with matted hair, four afro comb brushes and then sticking your finger in a light socket. So that is about as simple as the Bald look, not much preparation needed their; a very low maintenance look indeed.

For women you can expect some longer looks to be trendy too, reminiscent of the Farrah Facet styles of the 80?s but slightly shorter. Somewhat of a Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Farrah Facet hybrid and this will work for Blondes and Brunettes equally well with brunettes being somewhat shorter by about 2-3 inches in length. Another look, which is already making its rounds is the ?kick butt? short hair video action figure look. We will see much more of this in 2006.

Japanese Hair Straightening

By now, I'm sure you've heard of the hair straightening process invented in Japan that has swept America and made countless women forever grateful to it's hair-transforming powers. It goes by several different names - Japanese Straightening, Thermal Reconditioning, Straight Perm, and Japanese Straight Perm. So, what exactly can you expect after a thermal reconditioning service? Well, it's actually nothing short of miraculous, if you choose the right product and stylist.

I had my treatment done at a Japanese salon in Ohio that specializes in this service. After about six hours of sitting in the salon, being alternately shampooed, heated under intense heat lamps, blown out, flat ironed, and then going through the entire process again, I emerged from the salon with a completely retexturized, smooth and sleek head of hair. All together, the straightening process cost about $750, including a VERY generous tip and a large bottle of shampoo and conditioner specially formulated for my new tresses. The hourly rate for the service was $80, which is actually below most others that charge about $100 an hour. I was under strict instuctions to guard my hair from water or any type of moisture for the next 72 hours.

I was completely thrilled with my new hair. The light reflected off of it like crazy, and it blew naturally in the breeze, not at all dried out or artificial, like you might expect after a chemical treatment. It actually was in the best condition ever, which seemed counterintuitive since it had esentially just been through six hours of chemical and heat treatment. Nevertheless, it was absolutely and undeniably true.

I was told I would need to come back for a touch up on the new growth anywhere from 6 months to a year, depending on how straight I wanted it to stay and the rate of hair growth. It is now six months later, and even though it has more body, it is still shiny and smooth. I actually like it a little more with some body at the roots. It gives it a little extra lift, and the remaining hair is still straight and manageable.

There are some things you want to look out for when searching for a salon that offers thermal reconditioning. First, find out which straightening product they use. The best Japanese Straightening System is Liscio, and the second is Yuko. Both are made in Japan. Any others are to be cautiously researched. Liscio has produced the best results on clients, and if you've read about it anywhere, there is nothing negative to be reported. This is the system the salon I went to used, and my results were healthy and beautiful. Second, make sure the technician performing the service has plenty of experience in the process. Any good salon will provide you with before and after pictures of their work.

Third, be sure to be open and honest with the stylist about any prior haircoloring or processing, so they can adjust the treatment accordingly for the best results. Don't fall in to the trap of buying expensive shampoos and conditioners like I did (I spent about $85 on shampoo and conditioner).

You can actually use several quality, gentle shampoos and intensive conditioners and get the same, if not better, results ( http://www.cosmeticsgalore.com/best-haircare-products-reviews.html ).

After Japanese Straightening, you do want to be sure to keep hair protected from the sun and moisturized, so frequent deep conditioning and an SPF spray or other UV protective hair product is highly recommended. You must wait at least one to two months before coloring your hair after the treatment, depending on your stylist's recommendations. If you can, go to a stylist who was actually trained by a top technician at the corporate headquarters for the system they use. This assures they have been trained correctly and specifically on how to get the best results possible.

What this means for you is a lower risk of getting a botched straightening job or damaged hair. Do your research. Get online and find the salons in your area that offer the service along with their credentials. After all, you don't want to waste your hard-earned money on something that is less than a superior result. The cost of the treatment can be very high, especially if your hair is particularly long or hard to de-curl. Typically, the longer and curlier the hair, the longer the process takes, and the more you will spend.

Bottom line, if your hair is unruly, frizzy, or overly curly and you would like to have low maintenance, hassle free hair that is shiny and straight, the Japanese Straight Perm is just the thing for you. I know I will be going back for a second round!

7 Great Hair Care Tips

Hair is an important aspect in a person's look. Every day almost every person thinks about what hairstyles to use or how to take care of his hair. The hair care methods are vital in having a great hair resulting in a great image. I will try to share with you some hair care secrets and advice that always worked for me.

Hair Care Tips

1. First of all you have to love your hair. You have to love it because it makes you look good, it gives you real advantages. But belive me that there are hundreds of people that hate their hair. And that's not good because if you don't like your hair then you will probably neglect it. You shouldn't hate your hair because, even if it's not such a beautiful type of hair like you see at other people on the street there are many ways to make it look real good.

2. Accept your hair for what it is. It doesn't matter what kind of hair you have, thin, wavy, curly or stick straight, just accept it and respect it. If it's curled than don't try to straighten it. Using different damaging chemicals and methods to change your hair type it will practically destroy it. A person with curled hair will be desperate to straighten it up. A person with straight hair will surely want to get it curled. So try to make changes to your hair in the most kindly way.

3. Maintain your hair with pride and consistency. Depending on the length and style, have it trimmed appropriately. If you wear your hair short, have the style refreshed every 3-4 weeks. If you are growing your hair longer, have it trimmed every 6-8 weeks to remove split ends.

4. Choose a real good stylist for your hair styles. The styles has to respect your hair and all your demands and needs. Try too chose stylists recommended by friends.

5. Invest all the amount of money that you can afford on the best hair care products that you can find on the market.

6. Try to have as many activities as you can that are healthy for your hair. The hair is a part of your body and you should treat it well too. Exercise, eat well and avoid smoking and alcohol.

7. Try to pamper your hair once a week minimum. this means having a hot oil treatment or taking Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs). Also try to have a scalp massage as often as possible. If you treat your hair good belive me that it will respond.

All in all the hair is an important part in your body that should be well taken care of. Try to spend as much time as you can for your hair care.

Wigs ? Choosing and Caring for a Wig

Why do people wear wigs? There are several reasons and the most relevant reason is to hide a bald head and show a stylish, fashionable and aesthetic profile. Wigs are mostly made of horse-hair, human hair or synthetic hair. Wig is a short form for the 17th century English word ?periwig?. Actors wear wigs to get the nearest resemblance to the character they portray. Wigs have been used since ancient times. Egyptians used wigs to protect their clean shaven head from the sun. Romans, Greeks, Phoenicians and Assyrians also used wigs for style and to cover their head.

Wigs contain the cap which is its base, where the hair is attached. Caps are available in different types and hair is stuck to the cap using numerous different techniques. Hair is attached in wefts on the wig. Hair strings doubled over and closely sewn together in longer strands is the process by which wigs are made. Find more info at www.wigswigswigs.info

Wigs made from human hair have a very natural look. Depending upon the personal tastes, the human hair wigs can be colored, styled, cut or ?permed?. These wigs need lot of care and they are more expensive. Similar to human hair, the wigs are also to be cleaned with shampoo, dried, and conditioned to preserve its natural look and feel. People who do not have the time or inclination to do these chores have the option of a synthetic blend wig resembling human hair.

Most of the good quality synthetic wigs are identical to human hair wigs. They are not very expensive and need very little care and maintenance. The synthetic wig retains the curl, wave, texture and volume due to the ?memory? of the monofilament fiber hair. They get damaged when hair dryers, curling irons or hot rollers are used to get a wave.

What should be the correct size of the wig? Most of the wigs fit a head circumference of 21.5 inches to 22.5 inches. The wig should be worn on the natural hairline, nearly four fingers above the eyebrows. In the back, pull down the wig to the natural hairline. Using the elastic tab and Velcro provided in the back, adjust the wig to get a comfortable and secure fit.

Nearly 10 to 30 percent of excess hair is provided in most wigs so it is advisable to avail the services of a professional hair stylist to fine tune the wig so that it suits your features and gives a stylish look.

The wigs should be stored on a wig stand or a mannequin when it is not used so that the shape is properly preserved.

Perspiration, environment and lifestyle are some of the factors to be taken into account when deciding the frequency of cleaning the wig. Normally it is advisable to clean the wig after a fortnight?s use. Strictly follow the guidelines given by the manufacturer, for cleaning and conditioning the wig.

There are special styling accessories such as conditioners, hair sprays and shampoos to keep the wig clean. Cool water should be used to rinse the wig after the conditioning process. Leave the wig to dry naturally and avoid scrubbing the wig.

How To Use Pictures Of Hair Styles To Find Your New Look

Most people choose their new hair style by looking at a picture of a hair style or browsing hair style photos. This can be a great way to find the perfect look, but there are some guidelines that you should keep in mind when looking at pictures of hair styles. Doing so can help you avoid hair disasters and guarantee that you come out looking like your chosen hairstyle picture.

You can find pictures of hair styles in style books and portfolios found at most salons, in fashion magazines, and in online hair style photo galleries. All of these ways can give you numerous ideas and a picture of hair style that you can carry with you to discuss your new style with your beautician. By seeing a picture of hair style, both you and your stylist can have a realistic expectation of what your new style will look like and how to achieve it.

Have you ever found the perfect hairstyle picture only to come out of the salon looking nothing like the woman in the picture? Most blame it on their stylist. While part of the blame can be put on the stylist for not pointing out your picture of hair style blunder, most often the blame lies with choosing the wrong hairstyle picture to compliment your face shape and hair texture.

A picture of hair style is a representation of what the woman in the hair style photo looks like with a particular style. You can not realistically expect to look like the picture of a hair style because you are not that woman; your hair and structure are different. But you can selectively choose your pictures of hair styles and eliminate the ones that would be disastrous for you by following a few pointers.

1.When browsing through pictures of hair styles, be sure to pay extra attention to the type and texture of hair that the lady in the hairstyle picture has. Is her hair coarse, thin, wavy, or straight? Try to find pictures of hair styles with hair types that closely resemble your own. Keep in mind that a picture of a hair style may look great with a particular model because she has thick and naturally curly hair, but the same hair style may not look so great on someone with thin, limp hair.

2.Often, pictures of hair styles are taken of models with perfect bone structures. It is very rare that you find a picture of hair style with a model trying to conceal a too-high hair line, prominent nose or under-developed chin. If you have features that you wish to highlight or diminish, pay special attention to the style in the picture of hair style. Would the style in the picture of hair style compliment your features or take away from them?

3.Use an interactive online photo gallery. You can upload your photo and use it to test how you might look with lots of different hair style photos. This is a great way to try before you buy to avoid expensive mistakes when you go to the salon.

Once you find a few hair style photos that you think are perfect for you, ask your stylist for her opinion on your chosen pictures of hair styles. He or she will be able to tell you without a doubt whether or not your selected hair style will be picture perfect for you.

Laser facial hair removal is easy and effective

Laser facial hair removal is the option preferred by many people around the world for removing unwanted hairs in the face. Other methods of facial hair removal such as shaving, plucking and using depilatory creams can be irritating and messy. To avoid such discomforts with these methods you can go for laser facial hair removal.

Before you go for a laser facial hair removal kindly consult your physician who can identify the best type of laser facial hair removal for your type of skin. You can opt for any laser. The type of laser that is to be used for facial hair removal has to be determined based on the type of skin a person has. This will be done by the doctor prior to the laser facial hair removal.

The laser facial hair removal is more gentle and non invasive. It is a long lasting solution for permanent removal of facial hairs. Laser facial hair removal can also be done with the laser light based devices such as Light Sheer Diode laser system and the IPL. These devices provide excellent results for laser facial hair removal.

Some precautions have to be taken before you go for a laser facial hair removal treatment. The patient is advised to stay away from sun light for at least a week prior to the laser hair removal session. The laser device has to be set correctly for the skin color of the person. For this a patch test is done in a small area before implementing the entire procedure.

Laser Hair Removal Cost: 5 Main Factors

Laser Hair Removal is one of the newest technologies for eliminating that unwanted body hair. It is quick, easy and relatively painless. So, what's it going to cost? Well, how laser hair removal is priced depends on a couple of factors:

1. Geographic Location. Of course, there are always going to be pricing variations due to geographic location. That's the case with just about any product or service. You will find that laser hair removal cost differ from state to state as well as from country to country.

2. Number of laser hair removal treatment sessions. This means, the number of laser hair removal treatments you are going to need to complete your desired hairless effect. The total number of laser hair removal treatment sessions can be affected by your hair color, your skin pigmentation (light or dark) and the thickness of your hair.

Light skin makes laser hair removal easier to perform. Fewer treatments are required, and better, faster results are obtained. People with darker skin can be treated, but results are slower, more sessions are required, and greater expertise is required on the part of the laser center.

Some parts of the body are more difficult than others to remove hair. Each person varies somewhat in her or his hair regeneration speed as well.

Prior to your first laser hair removal treatment - in fact, prior to your deciding to undergo laser hair removal at all - you'll meet with the dermatologist or medical specialist responsible for the laser hair removal. Generally, the more sessions you require, the more it is going to cost you.

3. Size of the area treated. Treatment cost varies with the size of the area treated. Large areas, such as the entire back, or the entire legs, cost considerably more than this. Small areas, such as the upper lip, can be less.

4. Type of laser hair removal equipment used. There are different types of laser hair removal equipment in the market. Also, do not confuse laser hair removal with intense pulsed light treatments. The latter can also produce effective hair removal. Although the devices used are not lasers, they are laser equivalents. Both utilize the same principle of selective photothermolysis to achieve hair removal. Intense pulsed light devices are in fact more difficult to adjust than lasers and require great expertise for their proper use. Individual consultation with the laser center is necessary to obtain exact pricing.

5. Pricing packaging. Not only does the laser hair removal cost vary by area and by physician, but it can also vary in its pricing structure. Some, for example, bundle the laser hair removal treatment with other cosmetic procedures. For instance, some may include the application of a hair retardation product to the treatment area to speed up desired results. Some require you to pay a total package fee and yet others may charge you for each visit separately.

Experienced laser centers, which have developed expertise in laser hair removal, costs an average of about $500 per treatment session. They usually recommend a basic four treatment sessions to start off with.

As treatment costs can get really expensive, you should ensure that you can well budget for it. However, please be advised to go to an established medical center with good reputation. You may pay more but it may be worth the quality of service and care that you receive.

Why Organic?

?Beauty is a glorious gift of nature.? Homer

What you put on your skin is absorbed through your skin. To be more precise, the skin absorbs approximately 60% of any substance applied to it. Hence the success of trans-dermal skin patches prescribed by physicians to deliver medications.

Unfortunately, most of the skin care products mass produced for the market today, even those claiming to be `all natural? and/or `botanically based? products, contain harsh, toxic and even possibly carcinogenic ingredients that actually contribute to disorders of the skin and accelerate the aging process.

There is a growing concern from consumers about the ingredients in the personal care products they use daily. In a recent study by the US General Accounting Office (GAO), 125 ingredients found in cosmetics are suspected of causing cancer. Twenty ingredients have been implicated in causing birth defects. Twenty ingredients may cause adverse neurological symptoms, such as headaches and convulsions. Most of these toxic chemicals are so inexpensive that they are used in extremely high concentrations in many personal care products.

These toxic chemicals provide no benefits or nutrients to the skin. They are the inexpensive alternatives employed to achieve the ?feel? or ?slip? to the skin that occurs naturally using pure, nutritious, essential oils and vegetable oils. The chemicals used to replace the nutritious components are used in significant concentrations in most skin care products. Their only purpose is to increase the profit margins for the manufacturers. The health of the consumer is completely disregarded.

The trend for natural products is growing because the educated consumer is now demanding these for face and body care. Making the decision to use only natural products is easy. Incorporating this decision into your everyday life becomes more difficult as you try to practice it. It is nearly impossible to find completely natural and organic personal care products on the commercial market. It is offensive to see large numbers of chemically laden personal care products lining the shelves of natural health and food markets. Marketed as ?Natural?, these products contain harmful synthetic chemicals; however, few of us have the time to peruse the ingredient lists of our moisturizer, deodorant, body lotion and any of the other products we apply daily. We trust that the products sold in these ?natural health stores? are safe for the entire family, and so we believe the advertised claims on the bottles of shampoo, lotion, facial care, etc.

According to industry estimates, on any given day a consumer may use as many as 25 different cosmetics and personal care products containing more than 200 different chemical compounds. If a product claims to be organic and /or natural, its ingredients should be easily recognizable as natural components. Also, the ingredients should be listed in descending order with the most prominent factors listed first.

Nature offers all that is needed for healthy, radiant and beautiful skin.

New Way To Shampoo

I am definitely not a big fan of many of the shampoos and conditioners on the market today because of the silicones now commonly used. These silicones are added to give the appearance of soft and shiny hair by coating the hair shaft. It basically reflects light and gives it a silky feel, but silky glistening that you're feeling and seeing is NOT your hair actually becoming softer or shiner.

Some companies even use the theory that these silicones protect your hair- which in a sense, it does. Yet, at the same time, it is also creating a barrier so that your scalp can't breathe and your hair can't absorb the natural oils produced by the scalp. These natural oils are important if you desire truly healthy and strong hair. It can also sometimes play a part in hair loss or excess shedding of the hair. Trust me- I used to swear by some of the more expensive brand conditioners years ago, until I read an article about people trying shampoo bars and vinegar rinses instead. I gave it a shot, and to my surprise the giant wads of hair mangled in my hair brush gradually got smaller and smaller. I'm finding years later because of my awareness of this subject I have more of a fierce mane now than I did in my younger days!

Now I have embraced the fact that not everyone will welcome a complete vinegar rinse method or change over to soap based shampoo bars. It can take a long time for not only the person to get used to, but also their hair. These natural methods work wonders but there could be several weeks of devastating hair days in between as the hair adjusts, and on certain hair types it could be far worse than others! Some people just may not have the time, in the commonly busy lifestyles our society is used to today, to put into mixing whatever concoctions in question before hopping in the shower. I realized there had to be a solution somewhere in between, and I think I have a few ideas that might help. Following these simple steps may help you get luscious hair while taking a baby step into embracing the more natural.

First, ditch the conditioners! As I said, those silicones won't be your friend years down the road. We have to learn to embrace our hairs' natural oils as a means of conditioning. In my experimenting, I found my hair to actually feel better and more balanced by using a more moisturizing shampoo than simply conditioning afterword. Using a conditioner after seemed to weigh my hair down more. Also, learn to read your shampoo labels. Anything that ends in -cone is likely to be a form of silicone.

Now it's time to learn how to shampoo. Contrary to popular belief, you don't need an abundance of lather to clean. Use smaller amounts of shampoo than you usually do and aim for the scalp and hairline. This will help keep your hair from appearing dingy or greasy while leaving some of your natural oils at the tip of your hair, where breakage and drying is most prone.

Now it's time to play!!! Yes, we're going to have some fun with our shampoo! For those with busy lifestyles, which is the main reason I think people have a hard time giving up shampoo, it's a lot easier to mix a concoction and leave it by your shower than it is to have to prepare for each shower. What you add and how much is dependent on your hair type. They key is to start small- remember you can't take out what you already put in the bottle. Start with just a few drops of a nourishing oil, vegetable glycerine, or a healthful extract for extra nutrients and shake up your bottle. That's it. You'd be surprised how much even just a few drops of a nice oil to your shampoo can leave your hair! Begin with lighter oils too, and you can work your way up until you find a nice balance that leaves your hair with the desired conditioning in the end.

Here's some ideas for ingredients that you can add to your shampoo in order of light to heavier. Heavy ingredients will give more moisturizing and conditioning results, but may weight your hair down depending on your hair type - remember to work your way up!

  • Extracts- Rosemary, chamomile, and grapefruit are examples of extracts that are provide antioxidants and a nice touch of shine to the hair.
  • Essential Oils- Most essential oils tend to be on the light side and many have various positive effects on the hair. Some of the best include rosemary, ylang, cedarwood, peppermint, orange.... the list could go on and on!
  • Light oils- Sunflower, safflower, jojoba, sweet almond oil, and fractionated coconut oil are examples of lighter oils you can use for conditioning.
  • Heavy but nourishing oils- Avocado, olive, and castor oil are massively enriching ingredients that could be added, but you want to go sparingly until you know how much your hair really needs!
  • Natural vegetable glycerine- The ultimate in moisturizing because it acts as a natural humectant, meaning it draws moisture from the air to the skin or hair. However, too much glycerin can leave a film on your hair and give it a waxy sort of feel. (That is the one drawback of soap based shampoo bars and why vinegar rinses are recommended after using them.)
  • MOST important tip of all- Do NOT add anything such as milk, juice, or anything water based to your shampoo unless you plan to keep it in the refrigerator in between use! Water based products already contain preservatives in the correct amount. Adding more moisture or anything perishable could invite bacteria or mold, which we definitely don't want to smear anywhere on our bodies!

An occasional vinegar rinse for your hair in the very least , even if once a month, is recommended no matter what hair regimen you use. Vinegar acts as a conditioner by smoothing the hair shaft and help break down excess build-up, whether it be natural glycerine or those horrid silicones. By smoothing the hair shaft without stripping the hair, if will make your hair actually shiner and less prone to breakage.

Now as for me, personally, I am sticking to my vinegar and shampoo bars. Not only do I feel better about making a step in favor of the environment (most store bought shampoos and soaps contain sodium laurel sulfate, which is NOT environmentally friendly), but I am quite enjoying the effects of my faster growing hair while needing trimmings less frequently. However, different people have different tolerances and preferences- which I can understand and completely respect. That's why I have been experimenting with these ideas and sharing them, in hopes to give others possible tips and ideas to find their personal balance between modern and natural living.

Is Laser Hair Removal Really Permanent?

Laser hair removal is the latest trend for people wishing to rid themselves of unwanted body or facial hair. Using a laser to remove unwanted hair is touted as a procedure based on state-of-the-art technology, which is a fact. You've also heard the claims that the laser hair removal procedure is the ultimate in permanent hair removal. You've seen the advertisements claiming that laser treatments are fast, painless, and safe.

It all sounds very enticing, but is it all too good to be true?

To answer this question, let's take a hard look at this high-tech hair removal procedure and see if these claims prove reliable.

How does laser hair removal work?

The laser hair removal procedure focuses on the delivery of light into the skin, measured at a specified wavelength, from a hand-held instrument. The light concentrates on darker material in the skin. This targeted material is the pigment found in hair. The intense light damages the hair follicle, which slows or eliminates future hair growth. This process occurs without affecting the surrounding skin tissue.

A great advantage of laser hair removal treatments is the speed in which the procedure can be administered. Small areas, like the upper lip, can be treated in a matter of seconds. Larger areas, such as the back or legs, can be treated in as little as an hour. By contrast, electrolysis can take up to 125 hours of treatment for the back area alone.

Are laser treatments for everyone?

Individuals who response best to the laser hair removal treatments tend to possess lighter skin tones and a darker hair color. The greater the contrast, the easier it is for the laser light to focus on the darker material, or the pigment in the hair.

The latest technological advancements in laser hair removal have made the procedure more effective for those with darker skin. The concern for the risk of tissue damage, from the laser targeting the darker skin rather than the hair follicle, has been significantly reduced.

In most cases, people with darker skin can take advantage of the laser procedures. However, these individuals should not expect results as dramatic as those experienced by candidates with the most favorable characteristics, fair skin and dark hair.

Is the procedure really safe?

In almost all cases, laser hair removal devices used in these procedures have been evaluated and deemed safe by the FDA for hair removal purposes. Of course, an important caveat also applies here - the procedure must be performed by a licensed medical specialist or doctor. When looking for a hair removal clinic, it is recommended that you use a licensed medical doctor to perform these treatments.

Are laser hair removal treatments truly pain-free?

The laser treatment involves a light delivered through a hand held instrument that is attached to a laser console. As the high intensity light is being administered, some patients report a stinging sensation. Thanks to new technology, this stinging effect can be reduced. Many new lasers now incorporate a cooling system that automatically reduces, or removes, heat from the skin's surface during the laser exposure.

Most people describe the sensation as a slight tingling of the skin, and tolerate the laser procedure very well. That's not to say that some areas of the body aren't more sensitive than others. In these cases, a topical anesthesia can be administered prior to the procedure. General anesthesia or pain medication is usually not required.

Are results from the laser hair removal procedure really permanent?

At the present time, the medical consensus regarding laser hair removal is that the procedure results in a range of outcomes, dependent on the individual's physical characteristics (i.e. skin tone, hair color, etc.). Generally, after a series of laser hair removal treatments, one can expect a very dramatic reduction in hair growth. If and when hair does re-grow, it will come back lighter in color or finer in texture.

Overall, laser is still the most effective technique for permanent hair removal that exists today.

Hair Removal All Over Your Body

Today, a male body builder is not the only person into removing hair from all over their body.

Aside from the fact that there are more and more female body builders, there are scores of everyday males and females who remove hair from all over their bodies.

Both in the media and on the street, an obvious example is how many males and females are into head shaving.

At the pool or the beach, and even on neighborhood basketball courts, it's much more common to see males with smooth and hairless chests and backs. And even a few without armpit or leg hair.

And if you think about it, males in the media advertising underwear and fitness equipment don't have any body hair. They have it removed because the current fashion in this society is for males to be hairless.

Some would say it's about time they caught up with the females ...

But the truth is - Today's males ARE more aware of and conscientious about their overall image and removing body hair is a major means of projecting the most positive image. Besides, males have been learning what females have known ever since they started removing their body hair - There are some definite benefits to doing so.

Less body hair means less body heat. Less body heat means less body odor. And we can all support that.

But, perhaps even more of a benefit is the fact that removing body hair helps to define body shape. For females in particular, this applies to their legs. For males, their chests.

That's why when body builders are getting their body ready for competition, they use some type of hair removal.

And because there is such a growing trend towards complete body hair removal these days, we look to body builders and other athletes for information about the best way to accomplish it.

But even for body builders, it hasn't always been easy to connect with the, perfect, hair removal product or system.

Before the mid 90s, body builders relied mostly on services employing people who became their personal body shaver. These people used a wet razor to remove the hair from the body builder's entire body a few hours before a competition. Then they'd oil them down.

After the mid 90s, body builders began relying on laser hair removal treatments. But that didn't really work out so well.

Partly because the high cost of the treatments took a big chunk of their competition winnings, but mostly because their entire body couldn't be made completely hairless in one session, or even two or three. So there was the time factor.

Then there were the unsavory side effects of swelling, redness and maybe even some blistering, that often kept body builders from competitions, even if they completed the treatments well ahead of time. When people started coming up with scars - that was pretty much it.

So many body builders returned to the tried and true body shaver.

But that's not to say that many body builders haven't experimented with a variety of other alternatives to laser hair removal.

The main laser hair removal alternative methods include: electrolysis, waxing, depilatories, and the old stand by, shaving.

Electrolysis may be the only hair removal method that has been proven to be permanent, and that would seem ideal for a body builder, but -

Because electrolysis involves treating each individual hair follicle, (the skin depression from which the hair emerges), it is also the most time consuming hair removal method. It can take years of weekly or monthly sessions to completely remove all hairs in just one area. And -

Because electrolysis involves inserting a fine wire alongside the hair shaft into the hair follicle through which an electric current and/or strong chemical is sent down to destroy the growth source, (papilla), at the end of the hair, it is also quite painful, even for mighty body builders, even with the use of a topical anesthetic. And -

Electrolysis has some of the worst temporary side effects - Swelling, redness, pinpoint scabbing and skin discoloration, and worse, the possible permanent effects of skin discoloration and scarring.

Add to all of that - Electrolysis is the next most expensive method of hair removal.

So it's easy to see why electrolysis is not a viable laser hair removal alternative for body builders.

A hair removal method that isn't as expensive, can last for 3-8 weeks and would seem viable for body builders is waxing. And because waxing can be done on the entire body in one session, it would seem ideal for a body builder, but -

Waxing basically involves applying a warmed taffy like substance to the hairs in an area, then cloth strips, all of which are allowed a moment to cool and adhere to the hairs and then the strips are very quickly removed, pulling the hairs out by their roots.

Obviously, this hair removal method is pretty painful, so a topical anesthetic is recommended. But that's not the real problem.

The real problem is that while the wax is adhering to the hairs, unfortunately, it's also adhering to the skin. Which means when the cloth strips are yanked off, sometimes so is some of the skin. Understandably, this leads to some swelling, rawness and redness.

Usually, if waxing is done several days ahead of time and they stay out of direct sunlight, a body builder's skin is able to heal for competition. Usually ... There have been some complications such as infected ingrown hairs and other infections that have left scars.

Which means waxing is not the best laser hair removal alternative.

A host of body builders use the hair removal product of a depilatory to remove all of their body hair. It's an inexpensive method that can remove hair on the chest, back, underarms, hair in the bikini line area ONLY and legs quickly, easily and painlessly for a few days, but - You knew there had to be a but -

A depilatory employs strong chemicals that basically, melt, the hairs above the skin, which can then be wiped from the skin surface.

Problem is, hair and skin are composed of similar materials so that these harsh chemicals that melt the hair can also burn the skin and cause swelling, redness, bumps, ingrown hairs and even scarring.

So using a depilatory hair removal product is still not the best laser hair removal alternative.

Which is why many a body builder is still a body shaver when it comes to inexpensive, reliable and relatively safe hair removal that, when done properly, provides smooth results.

Sure, there's only one way to receive a, razor burn, and that's by shaving. And it's possible to get scrapes, nicks and cuts, as well as rashes, bumps and ingrown hairs from shaving, but -

These are minor side effects as compared to all other hair removal methods. And they can be covered with make up if need be. (Yes, make up is worn by body builders, when necessary.)

And shaving truly can be done on any part of a body builder's body. In fact, if it happens to be part of their overall presentation, there's really no other way a body builder can achieve a beautiful bald head than by head shaving.

These then are the hair removal experiences and results of body builders from which the everyday person can learn.

Although there is one more method of hair removal for all body shavers, including those into head shaving - It's still shaving, but with an inexpensive tool designed to easily, quickly, and most importantly, safely provide clean, close, and smooth hair removal - All over your body.

Ingrown Pubic Hair ? Get Rid Of It Now!

In today?s world of fitness and fashion, it?s becoming the mode (again) to have a clean and bald look at the pubic area. Why the word ?again??

The ancient Greeks, Egyptians and Indians preferred this look, and perfected ways to accomplish it.

They also knew how to deal with ingrown pubic hair, so let's look at some tried and trusted ways to take care of this problem.

What is an ingrown pubic hair?

An ingrown pubic hair is one that grows at an abnormal angle and turns back into the skin, causing the formation of a pustule or papule (A small, solid inflammatory elevation of the skin that may or may not contain pus.

Also commonly known as ?razor bumps?). This is unsightly and an unwanted side-effect to the bald look.

How do you get it?

There are many ways, but the most common way is to shave with a razor in the opposite direction of the natural hair growth.

The pubic hair can also be trapped beneath the skin from blockages to the hair follicle (also caused by shaving in many cases). Also the other hair removal methods such as shaving, waxing, tweezing, electrolysis, often irritate the hair follicle, and the hair becomes trapped beneath the skin.

What do I do now?

There are many ways to treat it.

The best way, as in all medicine, is prevention. In Part 2 of this series we explain how to prevent ingrown pubic hair, but now you need first aid.

So here are the proven methods, some taken from the ancient Greeks and Egyptians who had the same problem 3000 years ago.

?Understanding that the body will try to eliminate the ingrown pubic hair itself, help it along. Go to a sauna, and when you have built up a good sweat, lightly scrub (meaning exfoliate, i.e. take off the dead skin) with a ?loofa?.

A loofa is a marine plant that grows in the Nile, and resembles a coarse sponge. You can find it at any store that sells bath products.

?After the sauna, and scrubbing, the ingrown hair may be free (due also to the dilation of the pores while in a sauna), and have a sterilized tweezers ready (the ancient method).

Pluck them out! One by one. You must stretch the skin tightly, grips the hair close to the root, and pull it out. Ouch! But it works. After each pluck, dab on some antiseptic solution.

?If the above is not suitable for you, then you can do a three times a day compress on the affected area with a wash cloth soaked hot water (not too hot!), followed by the application of any product containing salicylic acid.

Salicylic acid is a strong exfoliating chemical that is useful to free such hair.

Ask your pharmacist to recommend such a product. There are many on the market.

?The daily use of the compress will help the body fix the problem, but also, you can apply some baby oil mixed with Aloe Vera lotion (make it yourself).

This will keep the skin from becoming further irritated, and the Aloe Vera is a natural antiseptic which will help prevent infection at the affected site.

Of course, there are salon specialists, but their methods will be expensive, and no more effective than the above.

You can also see your doctor, as in everything of this nature, the ingrown hair may not be a simple problem.

As we said, the best cure is prevention, and Part 2 of this article shows you how to prevent from ever getting an ingrown hair.

How to Match Your Hairstyle with Your Face Shape

Usually, people try to build a look that can only be done by actually doing it but during that procedure other looks are designed. With no doubt, this is part of modern style evolution.

I really love the celebrities who change their hairstyles frequently. I too love to change my looks a fair amount, so I love any woman with the confidence and style to tackle new hairdo's.

As I know for a woman the hair is very important I'm including some hairstyle guidelines and a face shape self test that you may find useful! They bare not rules, only suggestions. Of course, your stylist can help you decide the shape that match perfect your features. Or, you can do it yourself just slicking back your hair, and using an old lipstick to trace your face on the mirror.

1. Oval face shape matches better with gently rounded hairline, slightly narrowing it at the jawline.
2. If your face shape is rectangular avoid too much length, keep your hair just below cheekbones or around.
3. For a square face shape, try short-to-medium length of hair.
4. If you have an oval face shape, pay attention to cheeks and ears areas. Try a hair length longer than chin or short styles sweeping hair to the back.
5. For triangular face shape try a hair length that balances the narrower part

The Benefits of Clipon Hair Extensions

We all need a change every now and then. From our clothes to the music we listen to, a little bit of variety is great sometimes. So, why should we have the same hairstyle day in and day out? With hair extensions, we can look and feel like a new person -- any time we want to.

Regular hair extensions must be weaved, braided, sewed, or glued -- that?s more of a commitment than some people are willing to make. What?s more, it can be quite expensive. If you want a little hair variety without the time or financial commitment, consider a clip-on hair extension.

Clip-on hair extensions are a temporary way to change your look, either for fun and style or as a test drive for ?real? hair extensions. Some clip-on hair extensions are small sections of hair attached to metal clips, much like barrettes. This type of clip-on hair extension is not meant to be used alone and you will need at least three or four of them. You simply clip the extension wherever you need added volume or body. Then the hair can be styled as usual. These hair extensions can be either synthetic or natural.

Another type of clip-on hair extension is already pre-styled and used as created. A popular style for this type is the ponytail. These extensions are widely available at department stores, beauty supply stores and some grocery stores. They are generally synthetic and low-cost with a short lifespan.

Though experts say the clip-on hair extensions are easy to work with, you can have a hairdresser apply them if you prefer.

Hairstyles from the 78th Annual Academy Awards

The 78th Annual Awards is a great gala of great looking celebrities. Everyone is dressed their best and have some of the hottest hairstyles. We will take a quick glance at some of the hottest looks for male and female nominees. We start with the best female celebrity hairstyles and there are a huge selection to chose from.

Lets start with two England stars Rachel Weisz and Keira Knightley, two great actresses. Rachel Weisz's tie back chignon style was very sleek and tight. The hair is brushed up and arranged smoothly as to present her facial area with much distraction. A very cute look with complex tie back. Keira Knightley's look is quite different with split bangs and a pony tail. The hairstyle is not as elegant as the one from Pride and Prejudice but is still beautiful. Now we go to great blond hairstyles presented by some of the bigger names. Charlize Theron presented two great looks, the first one before presentation with split hair and crunches all around. Her second look during presentation was with split bangs and a very elegant updo. Reese Witherspoon is as usual with a very great hairstyle to match her homely nature. Her simple elegant updo presents a southern touch similar to her Sweet Home Alabama hairstyle. Two hot divorcees that any man would be more than happy to pickup include Jennifer Anniston and Nicole Kidman each with simple, flowing hairstyles slightly sweeped on one side. Both are great looks that are not too fancy. Jada Pinkett Smith shows a very sexy, sleek hairstyle that is sweeped to one side with a simple tie back as well. There are many more hot looks as well. Now lets name those women's hairstyles to avoid. I found Dolly Parton's hairstyle that only she can pull off and definitely no one else should even try. Jessica Alba and Amy Adams both had updos that were not as flattering to their face. Both were not done well and too high for miss Alba's. These hairstyles could have been done better.

When it comes to the male celebrity hairstyles, there are a variety of great looks. We start with Jake Gyllenhaal who had a very clean, hairstyle that did not match his slight beard growth. Luke and Owen Wilson presented two very different looks during their presentation. Luke presents the sleek, clean hairstyle while Owen has the wild long hair. Although Owen has done his hair better at other events, they both have descent hairstyles. Now on to the male hairstyles that were not so appealing. Tim Burton is a crazy guy and so is his hairstyle. Most guys should try to avoid this look. Also, Heath Ledger's was just not his best look. With so many prior great looking hairstyles, this one is just not a good one. This hairstyle was more sloppy and just not as appealing. One look that really surprised us was Tom Hank's long hairstyle that just did not seem to fit him. The look was more fitting on Tom Cruise but just not as fitting on Mr. Hanks which shows long hairstyles are not great on all guys.

Well this concludes the quick run down on Academy Award hairstyles. Until the next major celebrity event, keep your eyes peeled on those movies and big names in them.

European Human Hair Wig How Much Does It Really Cost?

I am sure you have wondered what the truth is about the prices of wigs made from European human hair. From shop to shop you will find a huge variation in prices, anywhere from 300 USD to as high as 10.000 USD (!). So let me take you through each step of the process of producing high quality handmade wigs, and show the real costs.

Firstly, take the acquisition of hair. The cost of hair for one wig (0,2 ? 0,4 kg) varies from 30 to 40 USD throughout most Eastern European countries. There is little variation there, but an important additional cost is incurred by high-quality wig-makers who collect hair in an appropriate and well-controlled way. The best wig-makers visit hairdressers and care for the hair themselves, using no middleman. They do not buy hair from wholesalers because wholesalers blend hair, because it is so time-consuming to acquire really good hair.

One simply has to find a girl among hairdresser?s clients that has beautiful, healthy hair and who wants it cut. The hairdresser can offer a free service to such a girl and actually pay her for her hair - and clearly both sides benefit from such a transaction. But this shows that, by its very nature, acquisition of good-quality hair cannot be a simple large-scale automatic process. That explains why outside of Eastern Europe the price of acquiring good quality hair is skyrocketing - not because the hair in itself is expensive, but because of its rarity. It is difficult to imagine a large-scale cheap process of acquiring high quality human hair in European countries.

Second, take the other materials used in making wigs. These are not expensive and their costs do not exceed 50 USD for a typical wig. These are the materials used to produce a cap. More and more wig-makers are now buying ready-made caps, so called monofilament, which are gaining popularity and their cost is not very high.

Third, take the labor involved in making high quality handmade wigs. This is the main cost factor. Handmade wig needs at least a week to be produced by an experienced expert worker. It takes a week of hard work, with each hair being knitted to the cap with a very small crochet-needle or glued with a special glue. In the case of long hair, the production time could be two to three weeks. Reliable wig-makers knit hair with a double-knot which makes the construction much more durable but needs some extra work-time. Depending on the type of wig, length of hair and type of cap the cost of labor is from 150 to 300 USD.

Finally, you cannot forget other typical business costs like investment?s amortization, management costs, taxes, insurances, rent, and profit. Altogether, the price of a handmade human hair wig made from European hair cannot be lower than 500-600 USD even for the shortest hair. There is no upper limit and it only depends on how much a customer is willing to pay, but before you pay 1000 USD or more for your wig remember the real costs of its creation.

And now for a real mystery. Why are European human hair wigs not made in China where labor costs are much lower than in Poland, Russia, or the Czech Republic? The main reason is no good quality European human hair available in large enough quantities to make profitable large-scale production in China possible. This is because wig-makers in Eastern European countries are buying all of the available hair for their own production. Surprising? -- but that is how it is. And that is why most of wigs produced in China are made of Asian hair or blended hair widely available on a wholesale market.

Franek Migaszewski is co-founder and manager of Wiggywigs.com site, the first wig vendor from Eastern Europe selling human hair wigs directly to the western markets on the Internet.

Choosing a Formal Hairstyle: Why Face Shape Matters

More than anything, even your dress, and accessories, the right formal hairstyle will say: You look absolutely fabulous! Learn just two attributes about your facial features and you will never again have a problem finding the perfect hairstyle, for prom, homecoming or any special occasion.

Why does knowing your face shape matter? As a general rule, duplicating the face shape with the hair shape, will create an ordinary look with no pizazz, or style. If you have a round face, don't settle on a round poufy or curly hairdo; it will only make your face look unusually round. Create interest with an angular and/or blunt hairstyle. Likewise, complement balance for a longish face is easy to do with a short full cut and style, rather than long and straight.

Proportion is the relationship between the length and the width of your face. Choose your hairstyle according to your facial proportions. Follow the guidelines here to find whether your facial structure is oblong, oval or round.

There are actually several methods for finding the proportions of your face. The method we will use now is the mirror method. Get the help of a trusted friend, who can assist you with the calculations. You can also use a photo of yourself facing straight into the camera. It won't matter if it is a small photo, what we are looking for is proportion and that does not change with the size of the photo. You will need, however to take an accurate measurement, so the larger the photo the easier this will be.

The average perfectly proportioned face is 1 1/2 time longer than the width. What we are trying to determine here is to what extent does your face vary from the norm. Remember, a perfectly proportioned face is very rare, you need to know your structure only for the purposes of enhancing your features with the very best formal or casual hairstyles and the right accessories.

Directions:
Stand directly in front of a mirror, so you can see your entire face and hairline. Remain very still, so you can take an accurate measurement. Do not sway forward or backward or from side to side. Pull your hair back totally away from your face and neck so you can determine your true bone structure.

Length
First, place a dot onto the mirror, at the uppermost point where your hair meets your forehead. Next, place a dot onto the mirror

where the bottom of your chin show in the mirror.

Width
Now, place a dot onto the mirror where each of your cheeks are at their widest point. This is usually at the same level as the top of your ears.

These two measurements are very important. Write them down.

Length
Width

Now, we are going to make a simple but very important calculation. Take the width and divide that number by the length. What number did you get? Write this number down. .

Your face is OBLONG if you are between .60-.69
Your face is a bit longer than average, you may have a high forehead or a longer chin.

Your face is OVAL if you are between .70-.79
Your length is at or close to 1 and 1/2 times the width. Your shape is average.

Your face is ROUND if you are between .80-.89
Your is considered round if your length is shorter than average.

This is not to say that you must follow these guidelines, but by doing so you automatically complement your natural features, which creates balance and excitement, making you more attractive.

New Updo Hairstyles for You

Do you need a new hairstyle? If you have long hair, it is easy to get into the ponytail rut. Just put it up and go. But long hair offers a lot of hairstyle options if you are going to the prom, having senior pictures or bridal pictures made, going to a wedding, or just needing an updo for a formal party. You do need to know some basics of hair care before getting started with long hairstyles though. Knowing the best way to shampoo, comb, brush, and dry your hair and the tools to use can give you a head start in your hairstyle.

First, shampooing long hair is best done standing up, preferably in the shower. This helps reduce matting and tangling. You should choose a shampoo that fits your hair?s needs. For instance, chemically treated or damaged hair should be treated with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Only apply shampoo to the scalp and then rub in circular motions to clean the scalp thoroughly. When you rinse, work the shampoo through the ends of your hair and this will also help with less tangles. Your goal is to clean your scalp, so it is not necessary to rub shampoo into the ends of your hair. Use several towels to blot your hair dry. Never rub wet hair because this is a major cause of matting and tangling.

Second, combing and brushing long hair can be difficult if you do not use the proper tools and technique. To make combing wet hair easier, start with a leave-in conditioner. Using a large tooth bone comb, start at the ends and work up a little, about an inch at a time, getting the tangles out. If you are working with dry hair, a large paddle brush works best. Again always start at the bottom and slowly work up to the scalp. When blow drying long hair, use your fingers to comb through the hair from scalp to ends while drying.

Third, you need a few hair tools on hand to make the perfect hairdo. They include a large comb, square paddle brush, bobby pins, hairpins, and elastic bands. The best elastic bands to use are covered with some type of material. You might not have known there is a difference in bobby pins and hairpins, but using them correctly will help your hairstyle. Bobby pins touch in the middle and are designed to hold the weight of your hair. Hairpins are made to hold hair in place that has already been secured with bobby pins. You can make curls and then spread them and hold them in place with hairpins.

There are lots of great hairstyles you can choose once you have mastered the basics and have your hair clean and ready. Braids and updos are perfect hairstyles for proms, senior pictures, bridal pictures, weddings, and formal functions. Long Hair and Updo Hairstyles

You have long hair and you are ready for an updo or ?long hair? service and you go to a full service salon and what ? they don?t offer ?long hair? service. Guess its not so full service after all. So you go to another beautician and they don?t know what to do either. Why is that? Some of the reasons hairstylists don?t offer ?long hair? or updo service is because:

None of their clients have long hair
Never learned how
Takes too long
Learned, tried it, but got out of practice and forgot
Too confusing

To the hairstylist, watching is easy. But when you are actually doing the work, it becomes confusing. It?s hard for a hairstylist to get and keep clients. If you are able to offer total hair services, including long hair, then you?ll be keeping new clients instead of sending them away. One way to help you get over some of the points listed above is to practice on a wig or mannequin. When you are in-between appointments, this will offer you practice to gain confidence and allows you to display your work to your customers.

If you are good at long hair, then you need to be the hairstylist that your competitors send their customers to. Advertise that you do long hair. There are plenty that don?t do long hair and this approach may get you the client list you need.

Let the bridal shops know you are available, along with the formal dress shops. Girls going to prom always want fancy hairstyles. Offer your services free to the bridal show as a promotion for your business. This helps you gain more updo customers and helps the bridal shop. Win-win.

You can also create a photo album of the mannequins you have been practicing on, or on customers. This will give prospective customers your ability and creativity level. Another idea is to work with a clothing store on their special event or sale days ? and offer your services to attract customers. You can make these books up inexpensively with a digital camera and color copies. Have them bound with some of your business cards and ask if you can display them at the bridal shops.

Complimentary cards are very good, too. You can offer a discount on the back of the card. When a client gets their hair done, then give them some cards to hand out when they are asked where they got such a cute hairstyle. This works especially well at high schools before proms and dances. As always, if they don?t need long hair services, they will probably pass the card onto a friend.

How much should you charge or expect to pay for long hair or updo services? Well, its different all over the country, but in general, the price should be at least $5 over the normal hairstyle whether it?s a shampoo and blowdry. Be prudent in your pricing as if you get a client that will only require 15 minutes for a braid or a quick updo, then you may not want to charge more.

The Price of Beauty: Hair Straightening Costs

With an onslaught of shampoo commercials on TV, featuring models with long, smooth and super straight tresses, it is no wonder that a big chunk of the women population want their hair to look impeccibly perfect. As a result, hair salons offering hair-straightening services continue to mushroom all over. Do-it-yourself hair treatments, hair ironing kits, and other various hair products are constantly being upgraded, with new and improved.

To say that there?s a great variety of hair-straightening methods and products to choose from is an understatement. Women find themselves in a dilemma on what would suit them, and bring out the best results. Among their major concerns is cost. When it comes to hair treatment, does price really matter? Will a more expensive process generate better results, or do cheaper ones suffice?

Factors to consider:

1. Hair Condition

Needless to say, more work translates to higher costs. The curlier the hair, the more expensive the salon treatment or hair product will be.

2. Treatment life span

One has to choose whether she wants her hair to be straight permanently or for a certain period only. While some women prefer to have hair a la Cher for their entire life, others love experimenting with various hairstyles - frizzy one day, super straight the next. A permanent treatment?s rate will of course be higher than a temporary one.

3. Maintenance

When one constantly takes good care of her hair, especially after undergoing a hair-straightening treatment, there will be less frequent salon visits necessary.

$$$$$:Chemically straightened treatment done by professionals in a salon

While there are hair straightening formulas readily available in the market, it is still recommended to leave the chemicals to the experts. The reason is simple: dealing with strong chemicals requires technical know-how of the entire hair straightening process. Also, professionals will be able to evaluate one?s hair condition to find out how strong the chemicals will be used, to avoid any damage.

$$$$:Hair ironing kit

While this hair tool is, of course, cheaper than a salon visit, it does not guarantee lasting results. Hair irons come in various types. Those using metal plates are usually the cheapest, but it is not recommended for regular use because its surface will cause hair damage in the long run. The ceramide hair iron is considered gentler and effective, but it comes with a higher price tag. Using ceramic plates, this kind of iron is smoother, which will result in better flattening of hair. It also has a better control in temperature, that will prevent burning and permanent hair damage. In buying a hair iron, make sure to test it before buying. Thoroughly read and follow the instructions included in the kit. When you regularly iron your hair, avoid using other chemical treatments, such as coloring dyes, because it might result in hair damage. It is also recommended to have a regular trim to prevent split ends from occurring.

$$$:Hair dryer

Amazingly, despite the emergence of newer hair straightening products, the good old hair dryer is still surviving, and in fact, still widely used. Perhaps among the cheapest of hair straightening products, the hair dryer still remains to be reliable in temporarily managing frizzy hair. Like the hair iron its results last only until the next wash. Before starting, make sure the hair is free of tangles by using a wide toothed comb. It should also be slightly moist. Use a large and round brush for better results. Setting lotion, gel or leave-on conditioner may also be applied after blowing the hair to eliminate frizz and achieve a smoother, silkier appearance.

Synthetic Wig Care Professional Secrets

Synthetic wigs are very easy to care for. You don?t need to restyle your wig after each washing, like you would with a human-hair wig. However, it is important to point out that human-hair shampoos and other care products are unsuitable for synthetic wigs. Even the mildest shampoo that you might use on your own hair is too strong for the synthetic fibers used in a wig. The same can be said about hair styling mousses, sprays and gels - don?t attempt to use them on your synthetic wig.

Instead, use shampoos, conditioners and hairsprays specially formulated for synthetic wigs. Raquel Welch, Revlon, and Tress Allure produce wide ranges of wig care products, and all of these brands work well with any synthetic wig. Most websites that sell wigs offer wig accessories, too, so it is smart to pick a wig shampoo, conditioner and spray when you order your wig.

Another thing to remember is that synthetic wigs cannot be styled with curling irons, hot rollers or blow dryers. In fact, any heat can destroy your wig, so be careful to keep it away from lamps, ovens, etc. Most synthetic wigs are already prestyled but, if you want to add a bit of personality to it, you can use a mousse that is specially formulated for synthetic wigs and style it with your fingers.

Washing synthetic wigs - step by step

A synthetic wig doesn?t need to be washed very often - after 10 or 12 wears is usually enough. Still, you might have to wash your wig more often if you use a lot of spray or mousse on it. Every washing shortens the life of your wig, so our advice is try not to use excessive styling products on it, and don?t wash your wig until it looks like it needs to be washed.

1. Remove tangles with your fingers and gently brush your wig. The only exception is wigs that are very curly - don?t attempt to brush them

2. Fill a basin with cool water (hot water can damage your wig), mix a little bit of synthetic wig shampoo into it and place your wig in the water. Leave it to soak for about 5 minutes.

3. Swirl your wig around in the water, but don?t rub the fibers

4. Rinse your wig under running water

5. Shake excess water off your wig and spread it on a towel to dry. Alternatively, you can put it on a wig stand. If you have wig conditioner, put it on the wig and gently work it through the strands with your fingers. Remember you can?t use blow dryer on a synthetic wig, so place your wig in a warm room with good ventilation and let it dry naturally

6. Brush your wig when it is completely dry and it is ready to wear again. Again, don?t brush wigs that are very curly.

As you can see, caring for a synthetic wig is really easy. And having a wig or several differently styled wigs can really help you to change your look in an instant.

Sedu Hairstyles How to Look Perfect on Prom Night

Sedu hair is the current 'in' fashion. It looks nice on everybody, but you do need to know how to make it go from looking great to looking super sexy!

7 Steps to achieving the perfect look:

  • Spray a heat-protective spray in your hair, this insures very little damage is done to your hair. Be sure to spray over the entire length of your hair.
  • Fully dry hair using a blow dryer. Make sure that you blow downwards, this is so the you can keep the cuticles lying flat, thus leaving your hair shinier, because more light can reflect from your hair. .
  • Comb through your hair with a wide-toothed comb, so as not to create static in your hair. Keep this comb for the next part. .
  • Separate your hair into sections. Depending on the thickness of your hair you may end up having created between 4 and 10 sections. Start with the hair closest to your neck. and work up to the top. You will find that the more sections you have the straighter your hair will be in the end. .
  • Once you have your first section, turn on your hair straighteners. Starting at the top pull the straighteners down towards the floor. Do this fairly slowly. The slower you go the straighter it will be and the longer it will stay in. But also the slower you go the more damage you cause to you hair. .
  • Once your first section is straight, continue until all the hair is completed. .
  • If you are happy with your look, then spray some shine spray over all your hair. If not, continue straightening your locks until you achieve desired effect, please remember that straighteners can also create curls and waves, so be creative. .
  • Prom hairstyles

We know that you want to look stunning for your prom, it is probably the first time you will put so much effort into going out, so you will want your hair to look amazing.

The Benefits of Human Hair Extensions

Several different types of hair extensions are available, including those made from human hair, animal hair, and synthetic fibers. Most experts agree that human hair extensions are the best and most natural looking. With human hair extensions, wearers are not locked into a particular color or style. The extensions can be washed, colored, and styled just like your own natural hair. Such a wide variety of human hair extensions are available that stylists can easily match the color and texture of your own hair with.

With expert selection, professional application, and conscientious care, human hair extensions are virtually indistinguishable from your own natural hair.

Human hair extensions are available in two basic formats -- strands and wefts. The strands format involves adding small sections of hair to your existing hair. Wefts are large clumps of hair attached at the top. Human hair extensions can be applied in a variety of ways. One popular method is to sew the extensions into small cornrows. Professionals will often sew strands with subtle color variations -- this tends to give the extensions a more natural look. Hair extensions can also be weaved, braided, fused, clamped, or glued.

Beyond the different formats, there are also large varieties of hair types available. Hair from most regions of the world is available, including Asia, Europe, and the Arctic. Arctic hair is chemically untreated, also known as raw or virgin. This hair is considered the best as it is most open to coloring, perming, and styling.

If you are considering adding human hair extensions to your hair, seek a licensed cosmetologist for consultation. It is also a good idea to check references or the stylist?s portfolio.

Pec Implants Men in the Line

Nobody likes body flaws. Body distortions detract us from a positive feeling. Youthful appearance and fit looks give definite benefit in society and business. Men are lately becoming increasingly aware of this and turning to cosmetic procedures, popularly known as male plastic surgery.

In addition to riches and intellects, handsome figure is the most important character of alpha male. In showbiz and management, sound body and sharp brain create a coming presence. The most popular cosmetic surgery procedures for men are pectoral augmentation and male breast reduction.

Pectoral augmentation is usually demanded by men who do not have that massive chest and can?t seem to increase the pec muscles by exercise. Pectoral implants or pec implants are also sought by body builders, who want a phenomenal chest growth. The reality is that although the pec implants will add some mass to your chest they cannot transform you into a muscle man; they don?t define your muscles, only add bulk.

Like plastic surgery procedures for women, male plastic surgery is an art form perfected by modern surgical advancements. But it is different from the procedures performed on women. Giving a better body contour to man is quite different from liposuction on female body, and male breast reduction is quite different from female breast reduction. The same is true in the case of male chest implants.

Men are not lagging behind in getting a beauty surgery. They have realized looking fit and youthful pays in business and society. Men know how to boost their self-esteem and confidence by getting a pec implant done. They know achieving a herculean look is just two procedures away - a male breast reduction surgery and a pectoral implant.

Male breast reduction is performed to cure gynecomastia (a condition of having female like breasts). Oddly, the condition quite frequently affects only one breast and many males seek out a reduction procedure. There has been a lot of speculation over the years about the causes of gynecomastia (feminine breasts) or male breast growth, but medical science has yet to come up with a clear explanation. Fortunately, cures of gynecomastia are there in breast reduction surgery, a cosmetic plastic surgery procedure. In this procedure, the plastic surgeon removes fat, glandular and excess skin from the chest in order to give it a firmer, manlier appearance.

Male breast reduction surgery is a simple but invasive cosmetic surgery as a great deal of flesh and fat are removed. The risks associated with this surgery are infection, excessive bleeding, an allergic reaction to anesthesia, dehydration, hematomas or seromas.

Before getting this surgery done you must know the causes of excessive breast growth, it might be due to impaired liver function or the use of medications that contain estrogen. The plastic surgeon may also recommend a mammogram to make sure that breast cancer is not the culprit behind the breast growth. If the doctor suspects that you have an underlying medical condition that is causing your breasts to grow, you will be referred to the appropriate specialist. If the conditions are ideal then you will qualify for a male breast reduction surgery.

Raleigh Laser Hair Removal Expert Provides Guidelines on Choosing a Laser for Hair Removal

Laser hair removal has come a long way since the first laser for hair removal received FDA clearance in the mid 1990?s. Older generation lasers were slow, very painful and worked only on individuals with very dark hair and very light skin. Today, lasers can work on all skin colors and some lasers are even safe for treating tanned skinned.

When considering a hair removal laser treatment, consumers should ask the following questions:

    1) Is this laser FDA approved for hair removal on my skin type and hair color?

There are several lasers for hair removal available. No one laser is ideal for every individual. Depending on your skin color and hair color, some lasers will be more effective than others.

The Ruby Laser: This is the original hair removal laser. Its deep red color at 694nm is very well absorbed by the melanin pigment in hair, making it an excellent choice for fine and light hair. However, because melanin is present in the skin as well, the Ruby laser cannot be used on patients with skin that is not very light, including tanned skin. Because of this limitation, slow repetition rate, and relatively small spot size, Ruby lasers have become less popular for laser hair removal in recent years.

The Alexandrite Laser: This laser produces reddish light. With its large (up to 18mm) spot size and high repetition rate, the Alexandrite laser is the fastest hair removal laser, and is suitable for rapid treatment of large body areas in patient with light to olive complexion. An entire back can be treated in less than 30 minutes.

The Diode Laser: This laser, consists of a high power laser diode emitting infrared (invisible) light at ~800-808nm. The longer wavelength allows deep penetration into the skin and safety for darker skin types, but with less efficacy for lighter and finer hair.

The long pulse Nd:YAG: This laser can be used on all skin types, including tanned skin. Large spot sizes and fast repetition rates allow large areas to be treated quickly. Disadvantages include more discomfort during treatment and less effective clearance for fine and light hairs than the other hair removal lasers.

IPL devices are not lasers, because they emit non-coherent light of many different wavelengths. However, because most of the light energy is in the shorter wavelengths, treatment of darker skin types is less effective than with the appropriate laser.

    2) What is the spot size of the laser? A larger spot size offers not only the advantage of faster treatment, but also additional safety and efficacy. As spot size increases, a lower percentage of the delivered light energy scatters outside of the treatment area, increasing the depth of pentration, and allowing a lower energy setting to be used for treatment.

    3) What type of cooling system is the laser equipped with? It is important that a laser have consistent cooling in order to ensure patient safety and comfort.

    4) Is there a board-certified physician on site? Although complications with new lasers for hair removal are rare, in the event of a complication, you need to know who will provide medical attention.

    5) Are treatments sold in a package or one at a time? Because every person will respond at a slightly different rate, and some individuals will require more treatments than others for complete clearance, most laser centers will offer individual sessions.

    6) Are complimentary consultations and spot tests available? You should be able to meet the technician and experience a pulse or two before committing to a treatment.

Customer Service Center: Hello, Thank you for calling the Get Beautiful Shop. What can I get for you today?

Customer: Hello, I would like to order a beautiful long, full hair style, slimmer thighs, higher cheekbones, a tummy tuck and a little liposuction please. Oh, and don?t forget the face lift, I hear it is on sale!

Nowadays, natural beauty can be purchased and in most cases, no one will know the difference. In the example of the beautiful long, full hair style, modern day human hair extensions offer the utmost beautiful hair for just about anyone that wants longer, fuller or highlighted hair.

Dino Dondiego, founder of Sequence Hair in Englewood, New Jersey, has developed a new technique for adding hair for length and volume. Dondiego has been working with hair extensions for over 3 decades and has attached them using just about every method available on the market. He categorizes current methods of adding hair into three different areas, weaving, extensions and hair systems.

The first area is weaving, where a track is made horizontally with the natural hair (created by braiding the natural hair) and the human hair is sewn into the track in wefts or individual hair. (A weft is a tiny little curtain of hair that is attached together at the top) This method was derived from African American salons in the U.S. that use to corn braid the hair and sew wefts into the braids. Dondiego says there are limitations with this method because the weft that is sewn in can be hard to hide and the client cannot wear his/her hair in certain ways and there can also be a build up of hair care products and dirt in the tracks. Removal of the wefts can also pull out the natural hair.

The second area is extensions. This method was also derived from African American salons that started braiding individual human hairs into the clients braided hair. Extensions offer a more natural, free-flowing look and have become widely accepted as a way to add length, volume and highlights to your hair. Dondiego saw limitations to many extension methods. Many methods advertise strand by strand hair extensions, when in reality they are attaching chunks of hair at a time, causing undue stress on the natural hair and also creating an unnatural look. Other methods use adhesive materials that can damage the natural hair.

The third area is the hair system. These systems consist of hair pieces that are sewn or bonded to the scalp. Some can include nets that the natural hair is pulled thru to blend in with the human hair attached to the net. Limitations to these integrated hair systems are that you will need a lot of hair to hide the nets.

As Dondiego worked with each method, realized the limitations, he decided to reverse engineer the way human hair grows out of the scalp. He determined that the most logical way to add hair would be to mimic the way human hair grows, randomly and one at a time. However, it is unfeasible to have a client sit in a chair while one human hair is added in a random pattern. This would take a very long time to finish.

Dondiego developed a technique called Hair Blending? that allows him to add one human hair at a time in a random fashion. Hair Blending? involves the use a special filament string, called a Sequence Blending Strand? that has the same thickness of one human hair, but is much stronger than human hair. The blending strands are transparent and blend into the tone of hair and skin. They are hard to see with the naked eye. Human hairs are attached by hand, one at a time to the Sequence Blending Strand? with a specially designed instrument that has a fine hook on the end.

When a client first comes to the Sequence Hair offices in New Jersey, Dondiego determines exactly how much hair will be needed for the client. Color and texture of the hair is also determined. Then the client must wait for 6 weeks while his/her Sequence Blending Strands are custom designed.

After completion, the customized Sequence Blending Strands are attached to the clients? natural hair using a linking system. Each Sequence Blending Strand? is wrapped around 5 or 6 strands of the natural hair and secured with a tiny little anchor the size of a pin head. It sort of looks like tiny little pony tails. The blending strands are very fine and light, leaving the scalp open to breathe. It can take between 3-4 hours to blend in a full head of hair.

Clients must return every month or so (depending on how fast their hair grows) to have the hair re-secured. The Hair Blending Strands do not need to be removed. The system can last between 3-4 years.

Dondiego concludes that Hair Blending is one of the safest ways to add hair since it leaves the scalp open to breath and does not add too much stress to the natural hair. He adds that, ?No method is 100% safe and anyone that adds hair must take proper care of it. Because the more hair you have the more work you need.?

Hair Blending? by Sequence Hair is only available at the New Jersey Office. Expansion plans are in the works for certifying salons nationwide to do Hair Blending. For additional information on Sequence Hair Blending, see http://www.sequencehair.com , or call 1.888.BLEND.88

    The Foundations of Beauty

Most of us have heard the old saying, ?Beauty is only skin deep.?

Well, it?s not really true. Beauty is the outer manifestation of good health, good genetics and good will. The state of our health is reflected in the quality of our skin and luster of our hair. Beautiful strong hair and clear smooth skin is the result of good nutrition. The state of our mind and intentions are reflected in our smile, in our eyes, and in the regard our loved ones have for us. A beautiful smile and sparkling eyes are the result of a good attitude. Good genetics? Well, that?s just the result of good luck.

Although it?s not skin deep, it is open to interpretation. After all, beauty IS in the eye of the beholder. Those we love deeply are always beautiful to us, no matter what they actually look like.

Whatever our genetics and luck, whatever our mindset, most women would like to look as healthy and beautiful as they possibly can. Whether want to look magazine-cover perfect; or whether as just as healthy and vibrant and as youthful as possible, the first step in constructing a new beauty regimen is finding out if you are providing the tools your body needs to repair and maintain itself and the health of your skin, hair and nails. The basic factors affecting the appearance of these are 1) nutrition, 2) hydration, 3) toxification, 4) hormonal profile, and 5) sleep.

    Nutrition

Your body rebuilds and repairs cellular tissue on a daily basis, and needs adequate protein, fats, vitamins, minerals, enzymes and other micronutrients to perform this function. Your skin regenerates constantly, building new cells underneath and sloughing off old cells. Without adequate protein, your skin will not be able to construct strong healthy collagen structures. Without an adequate amount of the right kinds of fats, your hair and nail cells will be weak and easily broken, and your skin will become dry and lifeless.

    Hydration

Adequate hydration is vital to the process. Your body requires enough water to move nutrients into, and wastes out of, cells. Water is the basis of the interstitial tissues that flow between your muscle and fat cells, carrying oxygen and hormones from one to the other. Dehydration can lead to slack skin and lifeless hair.

    Toxification

Detoxification is also another fundamental. Your skin is responsible for eliminating approximately 10% of your body?s toxins and metabolic wastes. By ensuring that the other organs of elimination are clean and functioning well, you lighten the load on the skin, allowing it to use its precious energy on repair and re-growth. Certain toxins can have definite adverse effects on the hair. Heavy metal poisoning from mercury can cause hair to fall out and to break and can aggravate gums. Lead causes neural damage that can lead to faulty signaling between your brain and outlying extremities.

    Hormonal Profile

Your body produces many different hormones that are used by the body to communicate with outlying organs and tissues and tell it how to react to changing conditions. Some of the hormones that directly affect your hair, skin and nails are estrogen, testosterone, progesterone, and growth hormone. For example, estrogen is important for keeping your skin youthful and resilient, but too much can cause aggravation of the gums and lead to gingivitis. Testosterone is needed to for the important task of producing your body?s own moisturizer, sebum; too much can lead to hair loss from your head and the unsightly growth of excess dark hairs on your face and belly. A lack of progesterone can lead to the skin condition cellulite. The hormones leptin, insulin, and glucagon are important for the maintenance of a healthy weight. As you can see, hormonal balance has a definite and important influence on how you look.

    Sleep

Your body requires a certain amount of rest to rebuild, repair and replace cellular tissue. Interestingly enough, the skin is usually regenerated between the hours of 11PM and 2AM, so for best results, you should be sleeping during those hours. Your body also uses the time during sleep to balance brain chemistry. Adequate sleep and rest is one of the most important things you can do to improve the appearance of your skin and the health of your hair and nails, as well as giving you the energy to live actively and the mood enhancement to enjoy life.

    Summary

One of the first things you need to do when devising a new beauty routine is to find out whether or not you are getting the right kind of food and enough water to meet your beauty goals. Also, you might want to consider a detoxification routine. Are you are getting enough sleep to put all these other factors to work for you? These are the first things to consider when devising a beauty regimen.

Synthetic or Human Hair Wig Which is Best

There are two types of wig material - synthetic fiber and real human hair. Most people naturally assume that a human hair wig is necessarily better than a synthetic one, when in fact it is not that simple. The correct choice depends on what you expect from your wig, how you are going to wear it, and how much time can you can devote to caring for it.

    Human hair wigs

The majority of human hair wigs on the market are made from Asian hair. Most of it comes from China, although higher quality Asian hair comes from women who live in India or Pakistan. Asian hair by its nature is thick, straight and usually very dark in color. Obviously this hair is great for making straight black wigs, but to make a blond curly wig it has to go through several bleaching steps and other chemical treatments. As a result, the hair gets damaged and a wig that looks great, when new, might become dull in a few months.

The best quality hair for European-looking wigs comes from Eastern European countries, like Poland and Russia. This hair costs more than Asian hair, because in these countries not so many women are willing to sell their locks. Wigs that are made from European hair last longer and feel softer to the touch.

When buying a human hair wig, be sure to find out from where the hair originates. If you are prepared to spend several hundred dollars on a wig, it is best to find one made from European hair. If the wig label says ?human hair wig? without specifying the origin of the hair, it is most likely made from Asian hair.

    Advantages of human hair wigs:

    • A human hair wig lasts longer than a synthetic one
    • A human hair wig is soft and feels natural, to the touch
    • A human hair wig can styled and dyed, just like your own hair
    • A human hair wig ?breathes?, so your scalp won?t perspire as much under one
    Disadvantages:
    • A human hair wig needs to be styled after every wash
    • A human hair wig is expensive
    Synthetic wigs

Although you can find hundreds of synthetic wigs styles, not all synthetic fibers are created equally. For example, costume wigs for Halloween are usually made from lower quality fibers - they are cheap and look obviously like a wig. For a Halloween party this is just fine, but for every day use you want a wig that will look like it has grown on your head. Luckily for you, the modern synthetic materials, which are used in top quality designer wigs, can look very realistic.

Go for well known wig brands, like Aspen, Revlon, Norico or Beverly Johnson, and you will get a natural look for an affordable price.

A synthetic wig also has several advantages:

    • ease of care - the wig keeps its style after being washed
    • lower price

    Disadvantages:

    • You can?t style a synthetic wig with iron - it will burn
    • A synthetic wig will last only a few months, if you wear it every day
I personally prefer synthetic wigs because I don?t wear them every day - only when I want to look different. Also, ease of care is a very important factor for me. So if you want a wig as a fashion accessory or a way to express yourself, then I would definitely recommend getting several synthetic wigs in different colors and styles, rather than just one human hair wig for the same price. But be careful - only go for top quality, more expensive synthetic tresses, otherwise you could be disappointed with your new look.

Synthetic vs. human hair wigs - cost issues

Even a medium-quality human hair wig is going to be more expensive than a synthetic one. This comes down to the availability of material. While synthetic fibers can be manufactured as required, long women?s hair, of good quality, is in a limited supply. The best quality human hair, from Eastern Europe, is very rare.

The best quality synthetic wigs usually cost one or two hundred dollars. For a human hair wig the price is much higher - typically over five hundred dollars, depending on the length. However, you can get both types of wig at discount prices from online shops that specialize in discounted wigs. Discount wigs are not at all inferior in quality - they simply aren?t the latest models. If cost is an issue, it?s always better to buy a best-quality synthetic wig than a mediocre human-hair wig.

If you are still unsure about which wig to choose, though, our advice is to go for a top-quality human hair wig, if you intend it to become your new style and wear it every day. Real hair wigs are definitely the better option for people who need a wig because of hair loss. On the other hand, choose a synthetic wig, if your intention is to have fun with your look and change your image, once in awhile.

Cleanse and Stimulate Your Scalp with the Right Shampoo!

Shampoo contributes to good hair care. In our quest for the perfect makeup, the vital importance of good hair care is mostly ignored. Your hair is usually the first thing people notice about you and gives you away in many ways. Is it dull, dry and damaged, or is it shiny, vibrant and healthy? Well-groomed hair contributes to that perfect look and the confidence in your personality. There are so many shampoos, conditioners and other hair care products available today. One needs to find out which one is best for ones hair.

    Don?t take shampoos for granted.

Don?t take shampoos for granted. Unfortunately, it is difficult to tell a good shampoo from a bad one, especially when cost, fragrance and foaming are the main purchasing criteria. In fact, good foaming virtually means too much shampoo was used, or rather, wasted. Ideally, the head should have just enough lather to help your fingers massage the shampoo into the scalp and lubricate the hair. This allows sebum and other oils to destroy foam quickly. Today, different shampoos are available for dry hair, permed hair, color treated hair, limp hair, and of course, normal hair. Then there are shampoos which are not typically found in store bought products. For these contain quality ingredients that contribute to the cost of the product.

For example, salon shampoo classically contains higher quality protein based conditioners or moisturizing conditioners, thus enabling the conditioner to penetrate deeper into the hair shaft and lock in moisture.

    Home Remedy For Dry Hair

Dry hair tends to be thin and rough. It is susceptible to tangles, damage, breakage and split ends. We suggest a few remedies you can try at home for managing dry hair.

The primary aim is to replenish the oil and the moisture in the hair. That is why the emphasis is on the conditioning aspect of hair care. Strong cleansing routines and dry toning exercises and massaging of the scalp promote dryness and flakiness of the scalp.

The use of strong-action shampoo is prohibited for dry hair. Often a generous oil application and massage is recommended before washing the hair. Frequent shampooing is harmful for dry hair.

For the moisture-dry hair, a moisturizer application is required.

Home remedy for dry hair: The Gentle Cleanser

    1. Beat an egg in a cup of skimmed milk. When the foam becomes consistent, rub it into the scalp. Leave it on for 5 minutes. Rinse the hair thoroughly with water. Carry out this routine twice a week.

    2. Take a cup of coconut milk and add two tablespoons of gram flour or one teaspoon of shikakai. Apply on your scalp and hair and massage gently. Rinse it out after five minutes. Follow this recipe at least once a week.

Another dry hair home remedy: The Protein Conditioner Beat one tablespoon of castor oil, one tablespoon of glycerin, a teaspoon of cider vinegar and a teaspoon of protein, plus a tablespoon of mild herbal shampoo. Apply it on scalp and leave it on for 20 minutes. Rinse with clear water.

    A Special Massage Oil/Toner

Get a bottle of castor oil or coconut oil. Add a teaspoon of lavender essential oil in it. Heat a little and massage it gently in your scalp at night. Rinse or shampoo it out in the morning. Follow this routine at least twice a week.

Other tips on home based treatment of dry hair

    1. First assess whether your scalp and hair are moisture dry or oil-dry.
    2. Condition your hair as often as you wash it.
    3. Never comb, brush or massage vigorously if the hair is extremely dry.

Before any kind of routine care is followed, be familiar with the needs of your scalp and hair.

Kevin Pederson has been managing a number of natural home remedies websites which have information on home based natural cures and for loss of hair as well as taking care of your dry hair.

    The Basics of Healthy Hair

Is your hair dry and brittle? Is it greasy and flat? Puffy, stringy, frizzy, the list goes on and on. There are so many things that can go wrong with our hair. So here are the basics thing to keep your hair healthy and in beautiful condition.

Scrub-a-dub-dub! Everyone knows that you have to shampoo your hair, otherwise you have tons of gross buildup and it just won't cooperate. Conditioner is just as important otherwise you won't even be able to comb your hair, much less style it. It's very important to pick a quality shampoo and conditioner fit for your hair type. Say you have color-treated hair; you get color-protective shampoo and conditioner. Makes sense right? Right. Now, its pretty much just lather, rinse, (only repeat for VERY dirty oily hair) condition, and rinse again. But there are some helpful tricks to it. When you shampoo, don?t be too rough with your hair or you'll damage the cuticle. Always be sure the shampoo is completely rinsed. When conditioning, focus on the ends of your hair as they are most prone to breakage and therefore tangles. The water should be cold when you do the last rinse out with your conditioner. It helps seal the cuticle (basically, hair strand), making it so your hair appears shinier.

Once your hair is clean and fresh, you'll probably want to use a shine serum or detangling solution on it. Gently pat your hair dry as much as possible with your towel and squeeze a small amount of product into your hand. I like Biosilk Silk Therapy Treatment. Massage the product into your hair gently, again focusing mostly on the ends. Avoid the roots, as they can look greasy with shine serum on them. Now it's time for blow-drying. If you have curly hair, you'll want to use a diffuser so you don?t frizz your curls. Otherwise, you shouldn't need any attachments. Pointing the nozzle down, blow-dry your hair from five inches away. Make sure not to hold it in one spot, or it'll get fried. Once hair is semi-dry, lift hair in sections with your fingers and blow-dry a section at a time. This will keep your hair from being flat when it's done being blow-dried.

Flipped-out or curled under? Spiraled, waved? Now you have to decide what you want to day with you hair unless you like it just blow-dried. Check out iVillage's Virtual Hairstylist below for some great ideas. They even tell you how to do it! Is that not the coolest thing ever?!?

    How Internet Changes Wigmaking

The Internet impacts all branches and now it?s time for such a conservative one as wigmaking. Thanks to the global network one can choose from the infinite variety of wig models available in the Internet and have it hand made personally for him or her by the masters of this craft in Eastern Europe at the price of good readymade product.

One of Eastern Europe vendors only needs a photo of a wig model of one?s choice. One can find a photo in Australia, have it made in Poland and sent to US or the UK. That is how Internet works.

Manager of the site Frank Migas says Like many vendors we operate in many countries where clients have greatly varying tastes and preferences. No wigmaker is able to create a collection to covers all of such a variety of tastes. But now there is a solution. Thanks to flexibility and personal wig-making, we can offer our new unique personal service that gives our clients any wig model they wish. Simply a client finds a wig model they like and sends us a photo of it, and we will make it of real human hair from Eastern Europe. This way we offer all the wig models available in the world. I know it sounds bizarre, but that is the truth in the age of Internet.

Frank continues: We believe it is a new quality in the Internet ? combination of the highest quality possible, wide range of choice for customers, low prices and total flexibility. All that Internet has for a long time promised to us.

Frank M. Wiggywigs is co-founder and manager of Wiggywigs.com site, the first wig vendor from Eastern Europe selling wigs made from human hair directly to the western markets on the Internet.

Hair Style Should Depend on Your Hair Texture

When deciding a hair routine, you first have to determine you hair type. Hair texture is an important part of determining how your hair is cut, how you wash it and even what types of gel or mousse you need to use.

If you have fine hair, cutting in long angled layers around your face, leaving the rest at shoulder length. Color will add an appearance of volume, but if you aren?t a fan of hair coloring, you can try highlighting the top layers. You may have to wash your hair a couple of times a day, especially in the summer heat. Use a deep cleaning shampoo to get out any oils that might weigh your hair down and make it flat. If your hair is dry, you can use a gloss to add moisture to the ends. Try a protein-based volumizer and work it into the base of the scalp. Pin you hair about 2? from the hairline and let it dry. This will make you look like you have extra volume and height on top.

Wavy hair must have layers. Length isn?t as important. Layers keep the hair from getting to big. Shampoo only once a day and use a silicone based gloss or gel or mousse instead of an alcohol base product. These alcohol base products tend to dry out your hair. You can pin it up in the day and let it loose at night.

A curly hairstyle will warrant long hair, but ask for a blunt cut to keep you hair from getting too big. Wash your hair every couple of days, and use a heavy conditioner and don?t rinse it out too completely. You?ll need the extra moisture. Same goes with using alcohol based mousse and gels. Use silicone-based products to keep you hair from drying out.

Maybe these tips will help you in your hairstyle issues and allow you to try something new or some new products. Remember, you hair style and hair texture have to work together.

Have the Perfect Prom Updo Hairstyle

Finding the perfect hairstyle is not as difficult as it may seem to some. You just need to consider what it is you want and what suits you best.

Before you embark on a new prom hairstyle, you should consider these things:

  • Your Hair Texture and Hair Length ? You must consider the texture and thickness of your hair. If you have long hair it?s much easier to put in an updo hairstyle than short coarse hair. Although short coarse hair can be made into an updo style with tight twists that cascade upwards on the head then with the addition of some extensions or a hair piece for added length, can make for the perfect updo hairstye.

Now that extensions are so popular, anything goes. Consider Jessica Simpson and her $20,000 hair extensions. Although you don?t have to spend that much for a similar look as Jessica, it is very feasible to do on a limited budget.

  • Your Face Shape - Collect lots of formal hair style pictures. It?s especially good to find pictures of celebrities with the same face shape as you. What looks good on them may easily look just as good on you.
  • While making your collection of prom hair style pictures, you want to be sure to consider the shape of your face as well as the length of your hair. But don?t do all of this along. A professional hairstylist can help you choose the right style. Show your stylist at least 3 pictures of what you like and they will most likely be able to make it a style suited just for you.

But don?t forget to also consider the style of dress you will be wearing to prom. The style of your dress and your hairstyle can make a huge impact in your overall look.

Spa Etiquette What You Need to Know

Spa-goers visiting the spa for the first time often need to know what is expected of them as they prepare for their spa experience. As the spa strives to provide the client with a tranquil and safe environment so too the spa-goer has certain expectations placed upon them. To make the spa experience as relaxing and enjoyable as possible here are a few simple guidelines to follow:

    1. Book well in advance and where possible pick up a brochure from the spa that includes prices and treatments. Call 24-hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule.

    2. Request detailed information on the type of treatment booked.

    3. Ask about the therapist assigned to you. Do you prefer a male or female spa therapist? An often missed and important detail.

    4. Wear suitable clothes and be prepared to undress according to spa treatment you have booked. Spa robes and slippers are provided for the comfort of the client and spa personnel are trained in proper draping techniques for complete comfort and privacy.

    5. Arrive 10 ? 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to ensure you are calm and relaxed before the spa treatment.

    6. Always alert the spa therapist to any current or chronic health condition that may need to be addressed before your spa treatment.

    7. In consideration of the other spa clientele, cell phones and pagers are not a good idea in the spa ? remember your there to get away from the stress!

    8. Allow the therapist to advise and prepare you for the treatment you have reserved. As you relax and benefit from the spa treatment you will be sure to feel the stress melt away.

    9. Everyone is different ? so feel free to speak or not during your treatment. Share information and feedback on your personal comfort level or any sensitive areas on the body.

    10. Relax you?re at the spa! Enjoy the treatment and reap the full benefits.

    11. Take time as you prepare to leave the treatment room, however, remember there may be another client waiting to use the space.

    12. Determine the tipping policy in advance and be prepared accordingly.

    13. Let the spa personnel know if your experience at the spa was as expected. Your feedback is always appreciated.

    14. Now is a good time to ask about any new products to take home. Scented candles or essentials oils will help you to enjoy the spa experience at home.

    15. Remember the right way to spa is your way so always have good communication with the spa personnel and make the experience a relaxing and memorable one.

Tweezing and Waxing for Easy Hair Removal

For most women, tweezing is the cheapest and most immediate method of hair removal. In tweezing, they use a pair of tweezers, which look like tiny metal forceps and which manually pull each hair out by the root. Tweezing is very useful for cleaning up the eyebrow area and removing stray hairs on any part of the face. It should not, however, be used for pulling out nose hairs to avoid dangerous infections. Though tweezing is quick and easy, it still can be quite painful. It is also difficult to remove hair in large areas of the body, such as the legs. The pulling motion can cause ingrown hairs, pitting, or scarring. You will be needing a mirror because some areas are difficult to tweeze by yourself. When shaping brows, one also has to be sure about the hairs one pulls out as one or two hairs can affect brow shape dramatically.

It is always important to clean Tweezers after each use by disinfecting the tips in alcohol. Never leave the tweezers just anywhere. You can protect the sharpness of your tweezers by storing them in a keep box or tube. Make sure you never drop your tweezers as this will dull the tips and misalign them.

Accurate tweezing has a few basic steps. First, try to brush the eyebrow hair in the direction of the hair growth. Don't apply creams or moisturizers-this can cause the tweezers to slip and miss the hair strand. Next, try to isolate the hair strand you are going to tweeze. It helps if you open your pores with a hot washcloth to make tweezing easier. Make sure you tweeze in the direction of hair growth. Pulling it in the opposite direction can be painful, so try to pull each hair one at a time and pull it gently and smoothly. Do not yank the hair out. Step back from your mirror and check your brows from time to time. Try to tweeze a few hairs from one brow first and then the other brow so they attain the same symmetry. It's always better to tweeze too little than too much.

Another traditional method of hair removal is waxing. Waxing has been around for quite some time and is one of the few temporary hair-removal methods that is still commonly performed by professionals and salons. In this method of hair removal, hot wax is applied to the skin and a strip of cloth is pressed into the waxed area. This strip is then quickly pulled away, taking the unwanted hairs with it.

Waxing can also be done at home and is a fast and inexpensive method for hair-free legs, face, bikini area and arms. However, some hairs may remain on the body as they can break off at or below the surface. Sometimes you might need to use a razor to ensure smooth and hair-free skin. It certainly can get quite messy and you will need a lot of practice before you can get waxing just right. It may also lead to skin infections and for some people, can be quite painful.

    Laser Hair Removal in California

California is often referred to as the place to see and be seen. Hundreds of miles of coast as well as world-class resorts cover the state. It's the place to put on the swimsuit and lay out in the sun soaking up the warm weather and liberal atmosphere. For many people though they are concerned about unsightly hair that may cover parts of their body. Instead of enjoying the surf and sun they are embarrassed because of the hair that covers their back, thighs or other parts of their body. Thanks to advances in laser hair removal, that embarrassment is becoming a thing of the past.

Laser hair removal in CA is becoming as routine as going to the dentist. Many licensed and qualified clinics are opening all over the sunshine state. They can treat any area of the body except the area that immediately surrounds the eyes. The most common areas requested are the face, upper lip, neck, chest, periareolar, underarms, back, abdomen, bikini line, and legs. In as little as two or three treatments you can have permanent removal of unsightly hair with little or no adverse after effects.

Patients wishing to explore this option should consult with local practitioners to see if they are a candidate. Successful candidates will have hair that is darker than their skin and have light colored skin. Treatment is not suitable for those with tanned or darkened skin because of concerns about the amount of laser absorption into the skin.

So get out and enjoy those beaches, surf the waves and relax at the spa. Don't let unsightly hair hold you back from letting you enjoy the many outdoor recreational opportunities the sunshine state has to offer.

Hair Threading As A Hair Removal Technique

Hair threading is becoming more and more popular as individuals search for a new way to remove hair. The process can be done at home if you would like to or you can get a much better procedure done through a salon. For those that are looking for a new method of hair removal, besides all the waxing and the shaving, hair threading may be the answer for you. Although it is about as painful as waxing, it can help to remove the fine hair that grows over your body.

You will use normal sewing thread to get the job done. The hair will be removed from the root. For an at home method, try this:

Use two feet of sewing thread. Knot the ends to make a large circle.

Hold it in both hands and wind it about ten times until it looks like a bow tie. The wound up portion needs to be in the middle.

Now, spread the fingers of one hand so that the wound portion moves to the other hand. Practice moving it back and forth for a few minutes.

Alternate the fingers that you move, spread and close.

Practice first with your leg hairs until you learn how to do it well.

Prop one leg up while you sit on a chair. Place the wound side of the thread on one side of the hair and lay the thread from the opposite end around both sides of the hair.

Move your fingers as you have been practicing quickly. The hair is captures and pulled from the root.

It is often wise to learn how to do hair threading by watching someone else do it. So, perhaps you should invest in a salon procedure the first time so that you can learn. Yes, it hurts a little and yes it is going to need to be done several times, but the process is one way for you to easily fight back unwanted hair. Once you learn how to do it, you will do it better. And, since there are no real risks of using hair threading there is no reason not to enjoy it.

Why Are Most Human Hair Wigs Made of Asian Hair?

At first sight the answer seems very obvious ? they are cheaper. And of course that is true. But in fact Eastern European hair is not that much more expensive ? the amount necessary to make a good wig is about 30-50 USD in Poland or Czech Republic. That is not a fortune if you are going to spend a few hundred dollars on a wig. So what is the catch?

The problem is on the supply side. There are over 2 billion people in Asia and only 200 million in Eastern Europe. Most of people in Eastern Europe have no need to sell their hair for economic reasons. Moreover, I don?t have to emphasize how rare it is in rich Western European countries to sell one?s hair. That is what makes European hair rare and explains why local wig-makers purchase only the amount necessary for their own production. Outside of Eastern Europe, due to its rarity, the price of the best European hair (so called ?raw virgin hair?) is skyrocketing.

Hence 99% of human hair wigs are made of Asian hair. This hair is marked by such trade names as ?human hair? or ?remy hair?. If the producer or a sales person does not state directly that the hair is exclusively European, you can be 100% sure that you are dealing with Asian hair.

Asian hair is by nature very dark (black), very straight and thicker than European hair. Subject to a complicated process of a pigmentation removal, the hair looses its natural shine and resilience. Before it finally gets to you it will be dyed several times using synthetic chemical products, which no one would use to dye their own hair. Such a hair has a tendency to show a ting of a dark or red color. This is why it has to be dyed several times and go through a bleaching process. That way any color can be obtained, but hair structure gets damaged during the process. It is not pleasant to the touch anymore and even after as little as twenty weeks it will loose its shine and become dull.

Another issue concerns the manner in which the hair is obtained. It is not planned from the start with the thought of creating wigs. Hair is cut in random hair salons. Part of the hair also comes from ritual ceremonies of cutting of the hair as a sign of entering into adulthood. Such hair in the fervor of the ceremony falls to the floor and is gathered from there and placed in a great pile. In the process the hair is turned against and opposite to each of its strands and not layered in the same direction. Although it may not seem so at first, this does change the fundamental significance in the quality of your wig.

Every strand of hair has a coarse cuticle, which clings to the cuticle of the neighboring hair if they are layered in the opposite direction. In effect hair is twisting and intertwining into a hair clump so difficult to comb out. The only method for solving this problem is to completely remove the natural cuticle, which is then replaced with a silicon one that gives the hair its shine. It is a brutal and destructive process ? such a wig will maintain its sheen no longer than for a period of 4 to 12 weeks. After that time hair becomes dull and unattractive.

The best Asian hair comes from India and Pakistan. In reality, it is not much better than hair described above. The advantage is that this hair is less stiff and may have a natural tendency to from slight waves. For that reason, many producers claim that it has the same qualities as European hair, which is not true.

If only there were more Eastern Europeans, life of wig-makers and their clients would be simpler, heh?

Franek Migaszewski is co-founder and manager of Wiggywigs.com site, the first wig vendor from Eastern Europe selling wigs made of human hair directly to the western markets on the Internet.

Ban the Brush: Use a Comb That Won't Break Hair

We've all heard the recommendation: If you want healthy growing hair, be sure to brush 100 strokes a day. But quite the opposite is true; the less your brush your hair, the better - especially if your hair is already damaged from chemicals or the environment. Your best bet is to trade in your brush for a comb that won't break hair.

When the 100 strokes a day method first materialized, women washed their hair with soap just once each month, or once every three weeks if they were wealthy and had a lot of time on their hands. Serious brushing was needed each day to remove debris from the scalp and to evenly distribute the scalp oils down the hair shaft.

Without brushing so many strokes a day, this oil and debris would have built up on the scalp, leaving the hair looking unclean and unkempt. In addition, the ends would have become dry and brittle unless a substitute oil were applied. And, since scalp massage wasn't widely practiced, circulation to the scalp would have been diminished, seriously hampering healthy growth.

Get Proven Results With Combs That Won't Break Hair

Fortunately, today we wash our hair much more frequently, and with slightly acidic shampoos that don't swell the hair shaft and cause cuticle damage like soap does. We also have a plethora of conditioners, both rinse-out and leave-in, that fortify and protect our strands.

Despite the modern hair care marvels, however, the advice to brush 100 strokes a day continues to persist. In fact, it's one of the top hair care questions I'm asked on a regular basis.

I always recommend against brushing 100 strokes a day and here's why:

Excessive brushing wears away the hair's cuticle - its protective covering. The cuticle becomes roughed up and catches on other hairs, causing matts and tangles. If the cuticle continues to erode, the inner cortex will be exposed and wear down, seriously weakening the hair. Once the cortex goes, the hair is likely to split and break off.

For women with shoulder-length and longer hair, and especially those who chemically process their hair, I recommend only using a brush when you absolutely must. Instead, invest in a smooth wide-tooth comb that won't break hair.

The best combs that won't break hair are handmade from cellulose acetate, a non-petroleum based material that's actually created from wood pulp even though it resembles plastic. Cellulose acetate is very tough and resists breaking, yet is smooth and flexible, allowing you to comb without hurting your hair or scalp.

I recommend that women with damaged hair use a comb anytime they would normally use a brush - to detangle, style, or to comb out before bed. Be very gentle, and always start combing from the bottom of your hair and work your way up as you undo any snarls.

    The Combing Solution

When using a comb that won't break hair, you're more likely to take your time instead of tearing through it like you would with a brush. That's because a comb won't slide through tangles, even with a lot of force, like with a brush. You have to gently work out the tangle, which is ultimately better for your hair.

Instead of brushing as a way to stimulate the scalp and promote circulation, opt for a soothing scalp massage instead. Scalp massage is much more effective than brushing for promoting circulation, plus it doesn't affect the hair shaft if done properly. To encourage hair growth, be sure to massage with a mixture of thyme, rosemary, lavender, and cedarwood essential oils in a carrier oil such as grapeseed or jojoba. With regular use, this mix has been proven to correct temporary hair loss and promote new growth (Archives of Dermatology, 1998; 134:1349-1352).

Since the only way to repair split or severely damaged hair is to cut it off, it makes sense to prevent the problem in the first place. The first step is simple: ban the brush and opt for a smooth wide-tooth comb that won't break hair or cause excessive damage.

The Sweet Side Of Hair Removal: Sugaring

There are a number of hair removal methods available today. The most recent and modern is hair removal by laser treatments.

But - Hair removal by laser treatments is also the most expensive of all hair removal methods and contrary to anything you may have heard or read in the past, laser treatments are not a form of permanent hair removal and do cause some unfortunate side effects, including scarring.

As a laser hair removal alternative, many people have chosen to wax their hair from different parts of their bodies. But unfortunately for some, even though they prefer the process, waxing can cause unpleasant side effects as well.

Sugaring is an alternative for people who have had unpleasant skin reactions such as redness or bumps with waxing hair removal.

One of the oldest hair removal methods, sugaring originated in ancient Egypt and continues to be very popular in Middle Eastern countries. Although recent research reveals that females the world over practice sugaring as their chosen method of hair removal.

The hair removal method of sugaring is most often used for legs, bikini lines, and eyebrows (to be done only by a professional), but it is suitable for any part of the body, including the genital area.

Sugaring resembles the hair removal method of waxing, in that a warm mixture is slathered on the skin and then quickly removed, basically pulling hairs out by their roots.

Sugaring is supposedly a less painful hair removal method than waxing ... Because the sugar paste adheres only to the hair, not the skin as with waxing. And because you roll it in your hands first, it can never scald the way a hot wax can.

A mixture of sugar, lemon juice, and water, heated to form a syrup, sugaring is hypoallergenic and an ideal hair removal method for sensitive skin.

But do test a small area first just to be sure you don't have an allergic reaction.

Skin irritations are further reduced from sugaring hair removal because the sugar mixture wraps around the hairs and pulls them out by the roots leaving no stubble. You get super smooth skin.

Regrowth is slow so this method of hair removal lasts a few weeks, which is comparable to how long laser treatments last and so makes it a good laser hair removal alternative.

Today there are sugaring hair removal kits that have the proper proportions of sugar, lemon and water already combined. All you need to do is warm the sugaring mixture by placing it in hot water. When it becomes spreadable, simply apply it in the direction your hair grows, cover with cotton strips, allow it to cool and then pull the strips in the opposite direction of the hair growth.

Or - You can make your own sugaring hair removal mixture.

Good for 2 - 3 sessions, this recipe includes ten rounded tablespoons sugar, one half of a lemon squeezed, (taking care not to include any pulp), and 1 tablespoon water. Mix these all together in an old saucepan and stir until it's completely smooth.

Stir constantly over the lowest heat. At first the sugar will become transparent and air bubbles will appear. Then the mixture will turn a golden brown and smell like caramel. Allow to bubble for about 10 minutes until much smaller air bubbles appear on the surface.

Remove the pan from the heat and allow to cool a bit. If it looks and feels like syrup, allow to cool a little longer. When the substance no longer sticks to your fingers, it's ready.

For the best results, the hairs should be short. Pull the skin that you're going to treat taut and spread the sugaring paste onto it in the direction the hair grows. Then pull it back in one stroke.

Once the sugaring hair removal process is complete, you'll feel sticky from what you didn't remove with your hands. A hot shower will take care of this because the paste is water soluble and warm water will easily melt and wash it away.

It's also a good idea to rinse the area with cold water to calm and tone the now agitated skin.

Sugaring hair removal is efficient and easy to clean up afterward. But, regardless which type of application you choose to use, it can be quite time consuming and messy.

If hair removal by sugaring doesn't sound like the laser hair removal alternative method for you, there are a number of other alternatives. Do some research and you're bound to discover a much more simple way to make hair removal sweet.

What is the Best Treatment for Grey Hair

When your hair goes grey it is due to the fact that the cells in the hair follicles called ?Melanocytes? no longer generate pigment, the main one being melanin. The hair follicle loses all pigment over time and eventually goes white. The white hairs against your darker hair give the effect of grey hair. As your hair is no longer as healthy as it use to be you need to consider treating it to prevent it from going brittle and lifeless.

The vital vitamins that your hair would need in this case is B12, and Omega 3?s. You can take these supplements as tablets or you can use a shampoo that contains these types of nutrients. There are many products on the market that promise to treat Grey Hair or even take Gray Hair away. Beware as there are only a few that will actually be effective.

If you are looking for a shampoo that will replace the lost nutrients in your hair then you need to make sure that the ingredients of the shampoo will actually treat the problem. If the shampoo contains Emu oils then you know that the product will work. The Emu oil contained in the shampoo is known as the follicle awakener and has been used by many to help prevent the onset of gray hair. Every hair must have omega 3's to grow properly. And Emu oil is the only ingredient that we know that can moisturize the hair enough to get it back up to an 8% moisture rate as it is supposed to be.

Now although a shampoo with these types of ingredients will help with the lack of moisture in your hair you may find in some cases it will actually darken the hair and reverse the graying process to some degree. The Emu oil actually works at the root of the hair follicle by penetrating the hair strand rejuvenating the pigment.

Just because you have Grey Hair doesn?t mean you shouldn?t treat it with conditioner and shampoo. Grey Hair can look healthy if treated properly. If you use the correct products you will find your hair will be healthy, full of volume and in some cases you could even get your original hair color back.

    Mastering the Art of Threading

Hair Threading is a relatively new process which can be done either at home or at many salons. Threading is a great solution for removing fine hair like the hair that grows above the lip. It's more effective than shaving, or bleaching, but it can be as painful as waxing depending upon how sensitive your skin is and how thick your hair grows.

The procedure is called Threading because you use normal sewing thread to remove the hair below the root. Honestly, it's quicker and easier to have it done at the salon but if you're into home remedies, here's what you need to know.

Start with about 2 feet of strong sewing thread. Take one end of the thread in each hand and knot them together so you end up with a continuous circle. Holding the thread with both hands, wind the thread 10 times until it resembles a bow tie. The wound portion should be in the middle. Next, slide the wound portion towards one of your hands by spreading the fingers of the other hand while closing the fingers of the other. Practice moving the wound area back and forth by alternating the fingers that you spread and close. Once you reach the point that you can easily maneuver the wound area back and forth, you are ready to proceed.

Because you have more area to work with, practice the procedure on leg hairs until you get the hang of it. Sit down on a chair and prop one leg up so it's at a comfortable height. Select the hair that you want to target. Place the wound side of the thread on one side of the hair and then lay the thread from the opposite end around both sides of the hair. Now, do the finger stretching and closing routine to quickly move the wound area to the other side of the thread. This will capture the hair and pull it from the root. Repeat the process until you have treated the entire area.

It sounds confusing. That's why it's recommended that you have it done at the salon the first time. Pay attention to how it's all done, and then try it at home. Threading is relatively inexpensive. Just think of paying to have it done as tuition because once you learn, you can continue to do it at home. Depending upon how quickly your hair grows back, you may only have to thread once per month. There are no real dangerous side effects to threading although, if you are especially sensitive to pain, you might find the process uncomfortable. The up side is once you learn how to perform the threading procedure, you can do it quickly and as frequently as you need to.

Laser Hair Removal It's Easy It's Safe It's Affordble

Today, there are numerous hair removal methods available such as: Tweezers, Shaving, Depilatories, Waxing, Hair Inhibitors, Threading, Laser hair removal, Sugaring and Electrolysis. Which will be the best for you? All hair removal candidates would like permanent hair removal and permanent laser hair removal is the only unique solution.

Laser hair removal is gaining popularity among those looking for permanent hair removal. Nevertheless, permanent laser hair removal does not suit everyone. Before going for a laser hair removal you are recommended to go through these points.

1.Laser hair removal is best for dark hair with light skin but it does not mean that you are not the right candidate for the laser hair removal. You should visit a dermatologist before going for a laser hair removal and you should collect information on laser hair removal from the manufacturers or direct from their site. However, some dermatologists can suggest you some alternatives. If you have light color hair then artificial hair darkening is advisable followed by laser.

2.It is very important to have a consultation with a dermatologist. You should meet the technician and request him or her to perform a test pulse. You should find a clinic, which is dedicated to your needs. Laser hair removal treatment is very particular depending on the type of skin and hair. Find a clinic with a friendly and informative staff that makes you feel comfortable.

3.Avoid waxing and tweezering for at least 6 weeks before your laser hair removal treatment. You are advised not to remove hairs by the roots.

Laser hair removal is a painless process. If there is a little pain, it is certainly bearable. If you cannot bear the pain during laser hair removal you should tell your technician so that he or she can supply you with numbing creams or proper coolants. Your feedback about pain will help the technician to adjust the intensity of the laser.

However, Permanent Laser Hair Removal is one of the long lasting hair removal methods. However, re growth can occur after laser hair removal, which may be lighter in color.

    Disadvantages of laser hair removal:
1)A long-term data regarding safety, effectiveness and response rate of laser hair removal has not yet been established.
2)Sometimes regrowth takes place even after laser hair removal, which indicates laser hair removal is not 100% permanent.
3)Laser hair removal is generally not effective on gray, red, blonde or unpigmented hair.
4)Laser hair removal must be used very carefully because improper treatment can cause skin discoloration, burns, lesions or patchy regrowth.
5)Laser hair removal requires eye protection and skin cautiousness.

    The Attraction of Pigtails

Very young girls wear their hair in pigtails because their mommies do their hair for them. Of course, this is because the hairstyle is easy and moms just want their little girls to look cute. When girls get older, the pigtails hairstyle is sometimes selected out of choice. This certainly goes for teenagers, but it is also true for young women as they mature into their 20's, and sometimes beyond. This begs the question, Why? Why do young women sometimes choose to wear their hair in pigtails?

The possible reasons for pigtails being a hairstyle of choice are many, some more obvious than others. When the weather is hot, getting the hair away from the head is a cooler way to go, and pigtails help immensely. When a girl is short on time and needs to get her hair ready in a jiffy, pigtails are quick and easy. Ladies might wear pigtails as a fashion statement. Or they might wear them because they want to look young, playful, cute, or sexy. (And yes, pigtails can be both cute and sexy at the same time.) Another possibility for pigtails is when a young lady wishes to present herself as an enigma. Is she a good girl pretending to be bad, or a bad girl trying to look good? And then there's the best reason for a young woman to wear pigtails: she wants to be a Pigtail Dream Girl at PigtailDreams.com! But seriously, pigtails are an attention getter, and the more mature the woman wearing pigtails, the more attention those pigtails get.

So, why do pigtails attract attention? Let's start with reasons for men liking pigtails. (OK, not all males enjoy pigtails, but most do, even if secretly.) Pigtails represent youth and, in our society, youth is attractive. As I said above, pigtails are cute and sexy, and what man doesn't enjoy a female showing off something cute and sexy? Some men fall for the enigma thing: Why is this lady wearing pigtails? What is she up to? Other men, myself included, see a woman in pigtails and think, Wow, this lady is truly special. But pigtails also attract the attention of other females, who pretty much react the same way that men do, but with additional possible thoughts like, She's such a child!, What a slut!, or Wow, I wish I had the guts to wear pigtails.

So, we see here that there are oodles of reasons for pigtails to be appreciated by pigtail wearers and pigtail observers alike. But I will close with what pigtails mean to me. To me, an adult female with her hair in pigtails screams confidence. This is a lady who is fun-loving, outgoing, bold, and confident. She likes what she has, but knows what else she wants, and is determined to get it. This is a woman with very high self-esteem. There are women all over the world capable of being dream girls, but it takes a truly special lady to have the confidence to be a Pigtail Dream Girl.

Many salons/stylists will offer complimentary consulations for hair extensions and others will charge a small fee. Either way, you will want to know about the methods before you go to your hair extension consultation.

There is a short list of some of the more popular hair extension methods listed at http://www.hairresources.net/step3.htm

If you do not have time to research the methods yourself, you can purchase our E-book,Hair Extension-The official consumers guide to getting hair extensions, where all the method details are covered, including where to find a salon in your area.

It is usually a good idea to select several different companies to start with in case there aren't any trained or certified stylists in your area.

Eleven Important Facts To Find About Hair Extension Companies and Methods:

    1. What type of hair is used and is it re-useable?

    8. What are the side-effects of the method? I.e. can it damage your hair?

    9. How long has this company been in business? (Type in the search box of any search engine 'company name + problems' to check them out.

    10. Are there any guarantees?

See How Easily You Can Revitalize Your Hair

Revitalizing shampoos, hair-care products aside, great nutrition is by far the most effective way of getting great-looking hair! Like your body, your hair too needs a balanced, nutritious diet to stay healthy.

    Water

One of the most important fluids you could ever have, water makes up one-fourth of the weight of a strand of hair. Moisture makes the hair supple; so ensure you get plenty of fluids. A key point is not to wait until you're thirsty. If you're thirsty, it means your body has already lost more water than it should have, and it's urging you to refill the tank! Water not only hydrates your body, but also helps keep your hair silky and shiny. Ideally, you should drink between eight and ten glasses of water a day.

    Protein

Protein is the building block of hair, so a diet for healthy hair contains an awful lot of protein! Protein will give the shaft of your hair more strength, and will reduce the possibility of damage through snapping and splitting. You can get protein from foods like fish, meat, milk, cheese and cereals.

    Minerals

In addition to water and proteins, minerals are equally important. Remember, your hair, like the rest of your body thrives on the natural resources. * Iron helps to carry oxygen to the hair. Without enough iron, hair and its follicles get starved of oxygen. This means that the 'goodness' in the root of your hair is much less effective along the length of the strand. You can increase your iron intake by eating red meat and dark green vegetables, or by iron supplements. * Zinc builds hair protein, which helps to prevent hair loss. Meat and seafood are the foods highest in zinc. * Copper is involved in the pigmentation of hair. You can optimize your natural color with a diet with plenty of copper. Shellfish, liver, fresh vegetables, nuts, seeds and meat are all high in copper.

    Vitamins

    * Vitamin A will give you a healthy scalp, because it's great for the skin! You can get vitamin A from foods like vegetables-in particular, carrots.

    * Vitamin B and C is important for good circulation, hair growth and hair color. If you ensure that you have enough vitamin B and C, you'll have strong, supple strands of hair that do not split. You can get these vitamins from eating foods like fruit, vegetables, cereals, eggs, milk and bread.

Just follow this good food guide to healthy and great looking hair. You could do without all the artificial chemicals.

Short Hairstyles Have a Long History in Fashion Try One!

    Think Audrey Hepburn

Short hairstyles, like most styles, come in and out of fashion regularly, but they usually spend more time in than out.

Recently, a long layered hair style was at the forefront of the beauty industry, but more recently, women have once again embraced the freedom and surprising versatility of short hairstyles.

If you look at a picture of short hairstyles from the 1920's, you'll see that the hair is marcelled. This was a process by which women's hairstyle was coaxed into tight, head-hugging waves. But if you look at a picture of short hairstyles from the 60's, you'll see that the women's hairstyle of that era was straight?often rolled on giant coffee cans to achieve the right effect.

The decision to trade in a long-layered hair style for one of the new short hairstyles should be one that any woman makes with the help of her stylist.

Many women choose short hairstyles to add height?something that is especially becoming when middle-age creeps in and things begin to sag all over. However, rather than short hairstyles, it's often true that an updo hair style is a better way to achieve lift and height.

Another plus about the new short hairstyles is that they can easily be lengthened temporarily by the addition of weaves, braids, and hairpieces. Secrets to Gorgeous Sedu Prom Hairstyles Revealed

Prom occasions are always the topic of the season. We usually have at least one prom occasion, party, or night out to look forward to every month. Life would be dull and joyless without weddings, birthdays, formal occasions, and friends? parties that take our thoughts away from everyday routine and create good mood for the rest of the month.

But these events may be a source of our stress as well, when choosing the right dress or hairstyle to wear in order to look special and unique.

So, if you want to look pretty on your friend?s party or simply irresistible at your prom, there is a quick, effective and unique solution called Sedu prom hairstyles. With a great variety of sedu prom hairstyles you can be natural, chic, formal, or have a vintage style, and have a new perfect look everyday!

    Natural Sedu Hair Style

If you have a lack of time, or prefer to be natural at any occasion, then this style is a perfect match for you. It involves simple dress of some fall-down fabric like chiffon, silk, or satin. The dress may also be made of the combination of these fabrics. Perfect type of dress is full length with low neck and sleeveless. Such dresses are always elegant and need no further improvements by adding accessories.

If you choose to add accessories, avoid anything heavier, than light gold or silver chain with small and neat pendant, or you risk to spoil you natural Sedu look. The make-up is as close to the natural make-up-free appearance as possible.

Natural Sedu hair style is simple. The hair is either left lose and straight, with some curls at the bottom, or twisted into lose bun to express the naturalness of the image. Sometimes when hair is left lose it is better to pin up the framing tresses to show the face.

To create this Sedu hair style follow these steps:

    1.Wash and condition the hair;

    2.Let it air dry, if you have time, or make a quick blow dry with the cool shot;

    3.Apply some styling mousse and make cool blow dry for 3-5 min;

    4.Use straightener to ensure that you have absolutely Sedu straight hair;

5.Make curls in, or out at the bottom of the hair, or pin the hair in the bun leaving framing tresses lose to add naturalness.

Now you have absolutely natural Sedu style with fall-down full-length dress, and hair style that expresses the beauty of your natural image.

These are two main reasons why natural Sedu hairstyles are also popular among celebrities:

    1.It is hard to impress someone with sophisticated hair style or dress, but natural image is bound to attract attention;

2.Great tension of the moment, when all cameras clicking, and people shouting, leaves no space to the head ache, which is usual for many women when they have a lot of pins in the hair that secure the hairdo.

The most popular celebrities that prefer to have natural Sedu prom hair style are Jennifer Aniston, Lindsay Lohan, Hillary Duff, and Angelina Jolie. They are well known for their simple, but elegant and smart styles that express their beauty.

    Chic Sedu Hair Style

Such style is suitable for people who are not afraid to experiment. It usually involves some sophisticated hairdo, great and expressive dress with low neck, and expensive jewellery. It is easy to spot chic lovers among celebrities. Famous Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman, and Charlize Theron are known for their fashionable Chic Sedu hair styles.

Things you need to do to have Chic Sedu style are following:

?Pick up a dress that is made of luxurious fabric with stiff corsage, low neck, and fall-down skirt of any length. It is important that the dress should be of bright color, no pastel shades are suitable for chic style.

?Choose impressive accessories like big necklace and earrings. It would look good with low neck and updo.

?Take high-heeled shoes of suitable color to match the dress and accessories. If you have sleeveless dress you may also wear gloves, they will add to your chic image.

?Make-up should be bright, but suitable. Its role is to underline your image, and not to ruin it. Everything should be matching, and not necessary the colors of the season, because everything that matches your image is fashionable in Chic Sedu style.

?Create a complicated hairdo. It is usually the hardest thing from the list. But you won?t have any trouble if you follow the steps below.

To create a Chic Sedu hair style, follow these steps:

    1.Wash your hair and condition it;

    2.Make quick towel drying and apply some styling mousse;

    3.Blow dry the hair until it is completely dry;

    4.Straighten the hair to tame and make it smooth;

    5.Divide off front hair;

    6.Create a twist of the bottom hair;

    7.Make side parting for the front hair and turn both parts around the bottom twist;

    8.To add extravagancy leave framing tresses, and curl them slightly;

9.Add hair accessories, which may be jeweled pins or flowers of the season, or some slides with decorative ornaments.

Now your Chic Sedu hair style is ready, and you have a look of ?world-is-at-my-feet: woman.

    Formal Sedu Hair Style

Formal Sedu hair style is appropriate for special occasions like your in-laws parties, your friend?s wedding, or corporate parties. It needs some formal dress of pastel, or contrast colors, that is white, black, or their combination, low-heeled shoes, strict hair style and formal pastel make-up.

Though it is rather old-fashioned, formal style is usually the best choice for any occasion, except for the friends? disco parties or graduation ball. You have all comfort possible with simple and plain dress with knee-high straight skirt, and create impression of a serious and reliable person.

Pastel make-up adds naturalness to the image, while low-heeled shoes give you the ability to feel your legs after long hours spent on feet.

Sedu hair styles that go with this image should be simple, yet elegant, expressing your personality and beauty in every situation. The most popular hair styles are tight bun and low ponytail.

To create a Formal Sedu hair style follow these steps:

    1.Wash and condition your hair;

    2.Let it air dry, or make a cool blow dry;

    3.Apply some styling mousse, and blow dry the hair for 3-5 min with the cool set;

    4.Make low-pony tail with some elastic band, twist the tail around the band and secure it with pins. Use no hair accessories, if you want to look absolutely formal, or add some jeweled pins for happy and friendly occasions, like weddings;

5.You may leave the pony tail lose, only hide elastic band under some neat hair accessory.

After you?ve finished all steps, you receive formal Sedu hair style, which creates an impression of the beautiful, yet serious woman, who makes everything perfect in her life.

    Vintage Sedu Hair Style

Vintage Sedu hair style is one of the latest innovations in the world of fashion. It is usually suitable for any celebrations and evening parties. The word ?vintage? is French and its direct meaning is ?twenty years?, but today vintage means some old fashion, brought up and renewed. For instance, Reese Witherspoon?s style at Oscar?s night this year is vintage. Her dress was of Victorian England style, and with matching hairstyle and pastel make-up it looked absolutely unique and adorable.

To create a Vintage sedu hair style you will need:

    ?To pick up a dress model that was popular not less than 20 years ago;

    ?Renew this model to suit modern fashion tendencies in fabric and accessories;

    ?Create pastel make-up with colors that match the dress;

    ?Choose accessories and jewellery that add charm to the image. You may want to have a handbag and shoes of the style popular in the same time period as your dress;

To create a Vintage sedu hair style, follow these steps:

    1.Wash and condition you hair;

    2.Make it air or blow dry;

    3.Apply some styling mousse, and blow dry the hair for 3-5 min to remove any signs of uncontrollable hair;

4.Create any vintage Sedu hair style that will match your dress.

Vintage Sedu style is very beautiful and remarkable for any occasions, especially prom. It creates a mysterious air around you, adds to your personality special charm and loveliness. It is very easy to create, and it really distinguishes you.

Note that Sedu prom hair styles are not bound to those described above. I?ve tried to collect and present the most popular ones that gain our affection and trust by their beauty and Sedu nature. Sedu prom hair styles are numerous and various, though all have common aim: to express the Sedu nature of the women and present them as one-of-a-kind personalities.

Hair Removal Solutions: Laser Hair Removal and Others

Fear no longer the ignominy of unwanted body hair. If you have been willing to walk should somebody show you the way, you have come to the right place for hair removal solutions. Here we present some of the popular hair removal solutions like laser hair removal among others which can offer you the flight of fantasy that you have been seeking for so long to become truly beautiful.

Laser hair removal: The latest technology in the long list of hair removal solutions, laser hair removal offers a easy to use, extremely effective method to get rid of unwanted body hair and is long lasting in its effect. Men and Women alike have benefited from this superb technology which promises unwanted hair removal from virtually any part of the human body. The principle of hair removal by laser is based on the fact that thermal agitation of the hair follicle and bulb under the skin causes the bulb to destabilize, break down and forego the capability of regeneration. Thus laser hair removal is precise and effective in hair removal.

Shaving: The most common and the oldest hair removal solution in the market today and world different from laser hair removal. Shaving is a self administered hair removal solution in daily use by both men and women for getting rid of body hair. The equipment required is low-tech : a shaving razor, brush and cream is all that you need. However the application is limited to only areas on your body that you can see and reach and is not definitely applicable for the tender areas on the human body. This is not a permanent hair removal solution as well.

Tweezing: Otherwise called plucking, this method involves using a pair of tweezers to pull the hair out of the skin to ensure hair removal. This method is particularly painful and suffers from the same drawbacks of shaving in terms of permanence of effect and areas of applicability. It is hard to imagine that laser hair removal and tweezing essentially are solutions to virtually the same problem.

Electrolysis: Before the onset of laser hair removal, electrolysis was widely touted as a very effective method for hair removal. It?s different from hair removal by laser in the sense that, instead of a laser beam destabilizing the hair root, it?s an electric current that does the same job. This treatment also needs to be administered for a longer period of time as compared to laser hair removal and is definitely not for the faint hearted.

In our opinion amongst all the options of hair removal available in the market today, laser hair removal seems to be the most promising. Its just a matter of time before the technology becomes so prevalent that even for the unfortunate few for whom cost is a hurdle, it will be within reach of their financial boundaries!

    Adding Color To Your Hair

Hair is an integral part of your entire look. It can either make you look great or make you look like the worst looking person for the day. To give a new look people nowadays color their hair which is an in-thing. Previously people use to wear wigs in movies and advertisements with added colors to look more glamorous but now everyone can do the same without the wig. There many new things which have been launched in the market to have the new and grander look.

In olden times people use to color their hair by using plants extracts and many people still do. These are natural agents which are very good for your hair without any side effects. The other things which changes color of your hair are vinegar. The shampoos which have come in the market are very harmful as they are chemical based making your hair brittle and hard. Many have allergies from some of these shampoos. So something herbal would be very helpful.

Many brands are available in the market which is used for temporary coloring of your hair. Many of your gray hair are removed by doing the temporary hair coloring. There are different ranges of color and according to your body and hair the color would be used. There are ways of doing it at home as you get color packs which can be self-used. But sometimes such kind of work should be done by professionals who can give more justice to your hair.

You can also get streaking done to your hair which means your entire hair won?t be colored but parts of it. There are things which are like markers and can be directly applied to your hair. These are one wash coloring markers which is very popular as it quick and easy to use.

A Look at Nail Salon Equipment

The type of equipment required for a nail salon is different than that of a salon that solely offers hair styling services. This equipment can be just as costly as outfitting a hair salon, depending on the style of the pieces and materials used in manufacturing nail salon equipment.

There are several pieces of specific equipment that will typically be utilized in a nail salon. A manicure table is the most common piece of nail salon equipment found in virtually all nail salons. A manicure table is similar to a common desk and it allows a nail technician an ample, steady surface area to perform work on a client?s nails. Basic manicure tables feature storage drawers, a padded hand rest for comfort, and swivel casters. Additional features of higher-end manicure tables include vents, built in electrical outlets, and polish racks.

Typically, manicure tables are made of a wood laminate for durability and easy cleaning. Nail dryers are a separate piece of nail salon equipment that are often placed on a manicure table to allow the client to fully dry their nails after receiving a fresh coat of polish. Manicure tables are available through a large number of retailers and can vary in price from under $100 to over $1,000. The price is usually dependent on the features the table offers and the materials it?s made of.

A pedicure spa is a staple in salons that offer pedicure services. Pedicure spas are designed to offer a client extreme comfort while a nail technician performs a pedicure. Pedicure spa systems typically consist of a padded chair for extra comfort that often features a rolling back massage. These chairs are attached to a foot spa where the client can indulge in soaking their feet, prior to receiving their nail treatment. Foot spas often feature jets that offer a full foot and lower leg massage for ultimate relaxation. New pedicure spas typically cost between $3,000 and $4,000. An additional piece of nail salon equipment that is used in conjunction with a pedicure spa is a technician?s stool. This low stool allows the nail technician to face the client and provide nail treatment. These small pedicure stools are often easily adjusted to the correct height for each technician and client.

Nail salon equipment varies from extremely basic, inexpensive, equipment to costly high-end equipment featuring the latest in accessories. As with new equipment, there is also a high demand for used nail salon equipment. Used nail salon equipment may be a good option for a salon owner who is just starting out or values simplicity. Used nail salon equipment can offer huge cost savings to the buyer. When buying used equipment it is important to ensure that all adjustment mechanisms and electrical parts are in proper working order prior to making a purchase.

17 Top Tips for Great Holiday Hair

When you are away from home in a different climate your hair will be subjected to weather it is not used to.

Your hair needs to be protected in the same way that you do with your skin. UV rays are very harmful to your hair affecting the pigment, strength, shine and vitality.

For your skin you take with you cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen and after-sun lotions so for your hair take shampoo, conditioner, hair sunscreen and styling products.

    Cold Climate

1.Cold temperatures weaken your hair and susceptible to damage. Flyaway hair tends to be subject to static. Hair should be well conditioned and protected by wearing a hat.

2.If you have frizzy hair use a leave-in conditioner and take a deep moisturizing mask with you on holiday. All hair types will benefit from using a heat protection spray and serum to keep the elements out and keep the moisture in.

    Humid climate

3.Hair expands just like it does when it is wet in a humid climate. This will make your hair fluffy or if it is curly, frizzy.

4.For all hair types, a pre-holiday deep conditioning treatment is a must to nourish the hair and seal the cuticles, as you want to prevent excess moisture from entering the hair shaft.

5.If you have fine hair use a light leave-in conditioner from mid-way down the hair to the ends and use a serum to seal the ends after blow-drying, being careful not to overdo the serum on fine hair.

6.If you have curly and/or frizzy hair then you need to seal the cuticle (the outside of your hair) to minimize the additional frizziness that results in humid weather.

7.Use a leave-in conditioner very morning. Use an anti-frizz serum to coat and seal the cuticle.

    Hot and dry climate

8.The sun strips the hair of its natural oils and dry heat increases this effect. UV rays attack your hair and the resulting free radicals damage the hair. The weakened cuticle causes the hair to become dehydrated, allows the bleaching and fading of the color pigment as well as split ends.

9.To protect your hair 100% from sun damage wear a hat!

10.Deep conditioning your hair before your holiday is essential.

11.If you have fine hair use a wash your hair with a gentle shampoo and use a light leave-in conditioner with UV protection. Use a sun-protection spray containing a UV filter to screen your hair from the effects of the sun and seawater and re-apply after going in the sea.

12.If you have curly hair use a moisturizing shampoo and a leave-in conditioner to minimize dryness. Apply a nourishing hair mask whilst you are away to deep condition your hair. Use a sun-protection spray containing a UV filter to screen your hair from the effects of the sun and seawater and re-apply after going in the sea.

13.If you have frizzy hair use a sun-protection spray containing a UV filter to screen your hair from the effects of the sun and seawater and re-apply after going in the sea.Use a rich leave-in conditioner with UV protection each morning and apply a hair mask every other day during the holiday.

14.When you have been swimming in the sea always wash the salt out afterwards.

15.Chlorine from the swimming pool is extremely damaging when combined with the effects of the sun, wet your hair in the shower before hand and protect your hair with a leave-in conditioner preferably one containing a UV filter. Wash your hair thoroughly after swimming.

16.Hair grips and bands are an extremely useful item to have on holiday and offer a quick-fix solution for hair care problems.

17.Don't forget your travel plug to ensure that you can still use your hairdryer and other electric hairstyling equipment whilst abroad.

    Bon Voyage!

    Medical Spa's: A Physicians Perspective

Imagine visiting a facility that allows for medical grade cosmetic procedures to restore skin health and rejuvenate the face and body, maximize health and wellness while in a serene spa-like environment. You would be visiting a Medical Spa.

International Medical Spa Association defines a medical spa as ?a facility that operates under the full-time, on-site supervision of a licensed health care professional. The facility operates within the scope of practice of its staff, and offers traditional, complementary, and alternative health practices and treatments in a spa-like setting. Practitioners working within a medical spa will be governed by their appropriate licensing board, if licensure is required.? It would provide a multidisciplinary approach that incorporates traditional cosmetic procedures and wellness with alternative therapies such as acupuncture, chiropractic and holistic care to maximize both health and wellness as well as beauty care. Those that adhere to the guidelines as put forth by the IMSA often have a physician on staff (preferably on site), chiropractors, massage therapists, nutritionists, and holistic practitioners.

Advancing technology allows for more dramatic non-invasive and minimal ?down time? cosmetic procedures to fit patients active social and career lifestyle. This, coupled with mainstream acceptance, has led to an ever-growing consumer demand. Numerous facilities are appearing almost daily, whether attached to an already existing medical practice or as a stand alone new practice. Even some traditional hair salons and day spa?s are enlisting physicians to come by their facility periodically to perform Botox? or Restylane? injections.

With this booming demand, many investors see an opportunity to cash in on this growing market by opening medical spas ranging from ?one of? to franchises. Many non-medical persons are opening up facilities ranging from laser hair removal facilities to medical spa?s, staffing them with estheticians, ?laser technicians?, or nurses. For a facility to purchase a laser, a physician has to be affiliated with that facility. Thus many physicians serve as Medical Director, yet have no direct clinical interaction with clients in their evaluation, treatment or follow-up.

Indeed, for some facilities the physician is not even located in the same community. Some Medical Directors have residency training in Dermatology or Plastic Surgery, while others are from different medical specialties. However, since many of these procedures and technologies are relatively new, current and ongoing postgraduate medical education and training are important.

With this rapid growth, many states medical regulations are not keeping pace with the evolving technologies, which result in loose regulatory oversight. In fact many states allow non-physicians to own and operate laser hair removal spas.

With increasing popularity and availability of these services, the incidence of injury from these ?low risk? procedures is increasing. While very rarely serious injury occurs (there have been two deaths, including one in North Carolina, associated with laser hair removal and use of topical anesthetic), troublesome injuries requiring evaluation and treatment by a medical specialist are becoming more commonplace. Injuries can include scarring, pigmentation changes, and even blindness. A study on complications from laser procedures by Vic Narurkar, MD was presented this year at the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery. He found that 82% of all laser related complications occurred in facilities that had no direct physician supervision. 1

Training is another big issue. For example, an esthetician requires a minimum of 600 hours training before being issued a license to perform skin care and superficial peels. However, to operate a laser most states have no set training requirements. In most cases the training is done by the laser manufacture and may be only a day or two in length. While lasers are generally safe in the right hands and most persons have no contraindications, there are a few medical conditions that can lead to adverse out comes. Certain medical conditions, such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, adrenal or ovarian tumors, can manifest themselves by excessive facial hair or male pattern hair growth. These could be easily missed if not appropriately screened for. Certain medications can place the laser patient at higher risk for complications. Appropriate medical screening is warranted in all new laser patients.

Another concern is what happens if someone is injured. Or, while screening a prospective laser patient, concern of an underlying medical condition arises. Can most of these facilities handle these situations? Does the staff know what to do? Is the staff astute enough to notice that a mole has some suspicious features before performing a laser treatment on it? Is there a physician on site or readily available to evaluate that mole, or treat a complication?

Medical spas provide clients aesthetic and wellness care in a serene, relaxing and pampering environment. Most patients will have no adverse outcomes or are treated without injury. However with the increasing popularity of these procedures, adverse outcomes are bound to increase. Having a physician who is actively involved in patient evaluation, treatment and follow-up is an important component to preventing injury. Establishment of a training program with ongoing education and evaluation of all practitioners is paramount. Finally, the ability to treat and refer patients who are injured or have other medical concerns is also important.

The idea of brushes is similar to that of combs. But the number of bristles and space between them as well as shapes and sizes vary such that they appear a wide variety of them. Bristled brushes are used for finishing and smoothing a hair style. These are also used for distributing natural oils and massaging the scalp to maintain hair and scalp health. Perm Your Hair Get A New Look

Knowing what suits your face is very important. It can be understood that the hairstyle suits you so you can go ahead with the idea of the perm. It is a style statement for many and can make an impact on everyone. Getting it professionally done is one of the important things one should keep in mind while getting the perm done.

There are different kinds of perm which can be permanent as well as temporary. Make a choice according to your liking. It gives bounce to your hair, adds a new look to your body which can be very satisfying. It helps in making it very soft and adds fullness to the same. Many people have different reasons for perming their hair whether the reasons are good or bad.

If you decide to perm your hair, make sure that you have made it clear whether it looks good on you. If it doesn?t suit you then the whole idea of keeping the perm is lost. Different hair types would need different ways of getting their perm done. When getting your hair permed keep in mind that you should have extra long hair and it should be in good condition which means well-conditioned and moisturizing.

Once the perm is done extra care should be taken, avoid perming your colored hair. If ever you plan to color your hair then it should be done after your perm. Getting two processes done at the same time can create problems for hair and it can be avoided by a wise choice. Excessive use of shampoo would not be good either, but the use of good conditioner for permed hair would also be good. Try to towel your hair gently and avoid knots.

Mostly getting a perm done would take 2 hours or more. It would take more than 24 hours to get the perm fully settle and have a great impact on your whole personality. The perm would last for 3-5 months which is good enough if you happen not to like the perm.

Kevin Pederson has been managing a number of sites related to hair and skin care which have information on hair care tips, skin care tips, knowing about perm, care to be given to your skin.

    Dandruff More Than An Itch

Big companies have made lot of money by selling shampoos to people who have dandruff problems. Famous actors and sports stars have endorsed these products. The flaking of dead skin which looks like snowflakes can be embarrassing experience.

Dandruff can happen to a person of any age but it is found in people between the ages of 10 and 70. Dandruff is a sign of skin disease which can be categorized as fungal infection. There is constant itching and flaking of the scalp which many times can be controlled by shampoos. Having dandruff will also be termed as not taking care of your hair properly. There are different types of dandruff depending upon the skin type of the person as well as on the basis of personal hygiene. They appear to be white, yellow, patches of dead scales, sometime small and sometimes big lumps of it. Many believe that dandruff is due to dry hair but it is the opposite which is true i.e. generally people who have oily scalps suffer most from dandruff.

Dandruff is mainly caused due to a fungus called Malassezia furfur (or also known as pityrosporum). This is generally and naturally found on the skin surface of all people. When this fungus grows out of proportion then the renewal of cells gets imbalanced making the scalp itchy. This fungus feeds on the oil which is released by the hair follicles leading towards an increased cell turnover. In some cases the skin cells may die and is replaced fortnightly, as opposed to around once a month which usually is the case in healthy people. There are many reasons which trigger the immense amount of flaking and sometimes cause redness and irritation due to constant itching. By having a healthy living and persona; hygiene one can have beautiful and lustrous hair.

Laser Hair Removal Treatments Facts To Consider Regarding Safety

When some people think of laser hair removal they can have many ideas that are not based on facts. These ideas are in many cases formed by myths. It can be a good idea to research the facts in regards to the safety of this type of process. You can them make a well informed decision based on facts.

Safe and effective laser hair removal treatments have now become very popular with the technology available today. They have become permanent solutions as they burn the follicles themselves. Follicles are the roots of hair and getting rid of these follicles would mean that hair can not grow back.

Laser hair treatments have many great benefits and people are still quite resistant in many cases because of not knowing the facts involved. People have fear of some stories they hear in regards to the harmful side effects of the process involved with the treatments. The stories are not based on facts, only fiction.

Here are some of the facts you may want to consider. The so called harmful side effects are nothing more than the old myths and not based on real facts. You can ask anyone about the worst case situation that can come from laser hair removal treatments and that person won't be able to give you a straight answer.

Here are some facts to consider about laser hair removal treatment. You may experience skin irritation in some patients at about 22%. Patients with very sensitive skin may have swelling in some cases but this too subsides within a few hours and in most cases within an hour.

Laser hair treatments are done by professionals and most of them are fully licensed. You can easily see if your state requires them to have a license. With highly skilled professionals, accidents are very rare.

With rumors that have turned into myths, it would be sad that people would have fear with these types of safe treatments.

Laser hair removal treatments have become one of the most effective and the most permanent solutions to excessive hair growth for many people.

Laser hair removal is mostly recommended for people with fair complexion and dark hair color. This is to minimize the possibility of burning. The laser is better absorbed by darker colors. If the patient has a lighter colored skin, the laser would be able to focus on the hair follicles. This shouldn't be taken to mean that dark-complexioned individuals cannot avail of laser hair treatment.

It's a good idea to note that burning is also prevalent when the patient has a fresh tan. It is strongly advised that the treatment be avoided when you have just come back from a trip to the beach or tanning booth.

Another common inconvenience brought about by laser hair removal is slight swelling in local areas. Patients with sensitive skin are more susceptible to this side effect. There is nothing to worry about, however, as the skin in such a case is just adjusting to the rigors of the concluded treatment.

Laser hair removal is not recommended for pregnant women. There is no scientific study that connects the treatment to birth complications, but as with everything else when it comes to pregnancy, the maxim better be safe than sorry is best practiced, for nine months at least.

With some time spent on research you will know you are making a well informed decision. There are several websites that you can use to do your research and gather valuable information to make the process easier. The process of laser hair removal treatment is very safe.

    Unibrow: Dealing With Monobrow Eyebrow

Unibrow refers to when your eyebrows actually appear to be one solid line of hair rather than two distinct eyebrows.

For most people, there is a distinct space of hair free skin between the eyebrows but for many people, hair that grows in this space gives the appearance of one big long eyebrow and it can be something they want to deal with.

In some cultures, unibrow (or monobrow) is often seen as being visually undesirable and both men and women can experience it.

Eyebrows are funny in that we tend not to spend much time thinking about them but they often become very noticeable when people start doing things to them like shaping or trying to minimize them.

In that regard, shaving your eyebrow hair is generally not considered to be an effective or desirable method to deal with unibrow since you could accidentally (and very quickly) shave too much hair which will really make your eyebrows noticeable, and for the wrong reason!

Here are some options that people often consider to remove unwanted eyebrow hair.

Tweezing: Using tweezers to pluck individual eyebrow hairs is a popular method of dealing with unibrow. Since it involves removing hairs by the root, it can hurt but can also help you achieve several weeks of hair removal if not longer. You might also consider using a professional (ie. in a beauty salon or clinic) to do it for you so that desirable results are achieved.

Waxing: As with the tweezing option, waxing can also give you several weeks or longer of hair free skin but given the relatively small space between the eyebrows, this might be a process best conducted by a professional lest you wax off more hair than you wanted.

Laser or Light-based treatment: Laser and light-based treatment can be a good option for unibrow removal since it may result in relatively long term hair removal of the unwanted hair. Given the size of the area that can be cleared with laser or light-based systems, unwanted eyebrow hair can usually be treated relatively quickly. Both processes need to be conducted by a professional so cost could be a factor in your decision.

Electrolysis: With Electrolysis, you might end up with permanent hair removal and since the space between your eyebrows is relatively small, Electrolysis is often a good choice to eliminate unibrow. Electrolysis can get expensive especially if multiple treatments are involved but it may offer you long term or even permanent results. As with laser and light-based options, Electrolysis needs to be conducted by a professional.

Temporary and permanent hair removal technology is evolving constantly and is relevant to both men and women who want to remove unwanted hair.

Selecting a Professional Body Waxing Salon

When performed properly, waxing can be one of the quickest and longest-lasting hair removal methods available. However, done improperly it can be painful and dangerous, risking infection, deep tissue bruising, and torn muscle tissue, and worse. This is why finding a skilled, safe, and clean professional waxing salon is an important part of this hair removal method.

First, you'll want to scout out the prospective salons. Ask your friends, look online, look in the yellow pages. Remember, a good salon will have good things said about them.

Once you have several places in mind, time to get out the phone and make some calls. Talk to the aestheticians. Some questions you may want to ask, are... How long has she been waxing, and where did she train? What type of wax do they use? Is it hard wax, soft wax, or do they actually use sugaring? What does their procedure and consist of? Do they use any powder or lotion? What does their sanitation consist of? Also pay attention to her mannerisms. A good waxer should be friendly and make you feel comfortable. If she is cold or seems reluctant to talk about her methods this not a good sign. Also you'll want to discuss cost and the area you want to be waxed.

Now, once you have a feel for your prospects, pay them a visit and check out their facilities. Talk to the employees, they should be friendly and personable. Get a feel for the place. Everything should be clean and neat, akin to a doctor's office. Ask if you can view the area where the waxing is performed. It should likewise be clean and tidy.

So far so good. Time to schedule a visit. Remember, during the waxing procedure if anything makes you uncomfortable or concerned, you can tell them to stop right there. After all, this is your money and you deserve acceptable, professional treatment for it.

Prices can range from $30 to $100, depending on the area to be waxed and quality of the salon.

It's A Shame For You Not To Reduce The Appearance of Existing Signs Of Aging And Help Prevent ...

Countless people are now using an anti-aging complex that works to help reduce the appearance of existing signs of aging and to help prevent the appearance of new lines and wrinkles in the future. The product they use has an extraordinary, marine-source formulation that is free of alpha-hydroxy acids, yet effectively evens skin tone and retextures, refines, brightens, and firms the skin's surface.

New pharmaceutical nutrients supply enzymes that amplify the body's natural process of rejuvenating the skin after sun exposure. Photosomes are fast-acting, light-activated enzymes, while ultrasomes are the slower acting enzymes that work without light. Pharmaceutical nutrients help speed cell renewal in sun-damaged skin to revitalize it from within.

A powerful oxidative-defense complex that is rich with vital nutrients provides optimal nutrition for hair and skin cells. The crucial role that vitamin C plays in cell health and collagen synthesis has been known for decades. A revolutionary formulation of water-soluble and lipid-soluble forms of vitamin C that counteract the harsh effects of the environment on the hair and skin's appearance and provide essential antioxidants. Proline and glycine, highly effective amino acids that draw in moisture, diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Essential fatty acids are a basic building block for healthy skin and hair. Use pharmaceutical products that provide important polyunsaturated fatty acids to support smooth, hydrated skin and soft, manageable hair. Fiber is an important element in maintaining healthy skin because it helps maintain overall body health. Use a great-tasting, low-glycemic drink mix that provides more than twice the amount of fiber.

Parabens preservatives seem to be in everything we touch, taste, or use. Hairstyles In A Hurry: Fast Tips For Fast Living

It can be hard to get your hair to look like you want it to. Especially when you're in a hurry.

Well now you can relax with 2 great looking hairstyles you can create without spending much time.

    Fast Forward Curl

This sophisticated looking style is quick and easy.

Begin by making sure you have everything handy: a blow dryer and light hand-held diffuser, a small barreled curling iron, misting bottle (if you have natural curls), curl enhancing balm or mousse (if you need it), and a non-stiffening hair spray.

    1. Apply the curl enhancer / mousse to help enhance any natural curl. If you have a lot of natural curl, a misting bottle might be enough.

    2. Gently untangle your hair and create a part in it.

    3. Air dry your hair about 80% (use a towel if you are in a hurry).

    4. If you have a lot of natural curl, begin scrunching your hair with your fingers (misting frequently if you are using water).

    5. If you are using a blow dryer, push your fingers into the hair to lift at the roots.

    6. To add more volume, dry your hair upside down while continuing to scrunch with your fingers.

    7. If you have less natural curl, use a small barreled curling iron.

    8. Once you have it the way you like it, spray with a non-stiffening hairspray.

    The Messy Up Do Hair

A popular hair style that is quick is the trendy messy up do. To accomplish this look:

    1. Brush out your hair to remove the tangles.

    2. Pull some of the hair up from the front of your face and secure it with a covered ponytail holder.

    3. Cover the holder with a hair clasp.

    4. At the nape of your neck, gather your hair into a loose ponytail and hold it in place with a hair tie.

    5. Twist the ponytail up to the crown of your head and secure the twist with long hair pins.

    6. Leave several (however many you like to see) of the ends of the twist loose and arrange them as you like.

    7. Pull some of the whippy ends loosely around your jaw to soften your jaw line.

    8. Hold the do in place with a non-stiffening hairspray.

    Practice

Practicing these and other styles will allow you to change hair styles quickly. Before you know it, you will be able to race in the door, change hair style, and dash back out to your next appointment looking fresh and stylish in a matter of minutes.

To give a different look to these styles, change the color, size, or style of pins you use; also vary the other accessories. In the same amount of time, your hair style can look new and different.

Memorize these and other quick hair styling methods, so that you can look your best without spending a lot of time on your hair. Practice is the key that will allow you to quickly create hairstyles in minutes that are fresh and stylish every time.

    Hair Removal: Shaving and Depilatories

Hair removal is considered by most people as a cosmetic issue. But aside from common belief, hair removal can often come as a medical requirement for cases like general surgery, skin graft procedures, ingrown hairs, especially eyelashes and a variety of other conditions. More often than not, changes in the patterns of hair growth are symptoms of serious conditions like glucose intolerance or hormonal imbalances.

Most cultures have an ideal amount of hair for males and females. Usually, hair that exceeds this 'aesthetic standard' causes problems, whether perceived or real, with a person's acceptance by society. Therefore, controlling the growth or removing the unwanted hair goes further than being a simple cosmetic issue.

Methods Of Hair Removal - Temporary Methods

Hair can be removed through either depilation, which is the removal of part of the hair above the skin's surface, or by epilating, which is the removal of the whole hair. For many clients, using these temporary methods at regular intervals is adequate.

Shaving - This method is the most preferred way for removing hair. This is because it is very affordable, easy, fast, painless and has minimal side effects. Shaving is very safe and can be done at home or almost anywhere. The downside is that it doesn't last for long. In shaving, a sharpened metal blade or razor cuts off the hair at the skin's surface. The effects of shaving are very short-term, ranging from a few hours to several days. People with darkly pigmented hairs may have a visible shadow of dark hair under their skin. This often requires daily removal. Shaving can also result in skin irritation and cuts. For a few, it is known to cause ingrown hairs especially in the bikini area of women and facial hairs of African-American men. Also, shaving blades require regular replacement. A good shave also needs other products such as shaving creams, gels and before and after-shave products. Blades also differ. There are blades with non-disposable handles that use replaceable blade cartridges. There are also disposable razors designed to be thrown out after a number of uses or when the blade gets dull. A safety razor is a double-bladed razor intended to reduce the possibility of nicks or cuts. The myth that shaving makes the hair grow thicker or faster has been busted in 1928 yet continues to persist until today.

Cream depilatory - Another way of removing hair is by using cream depilatories. This method is quite common but not as popular as shaving. This is because a number of its consumers say that it can cause mild to serious skin irritation and even chemical burns. With this method, the cream contains a chemical that is designed to dissolve the hair it comes in contact with. Cream depilatories are inexpensive and fast. They are often painless, although some may result in a mild tingling or burning sensation. Depilation can be done at home or anywhere. Its disadvantages are like those of shaving. The effects are short term, ranging from a few hours to several days and can also result in the dark 'shadow' of hair under the skin. The procedure often requires repetition every couple of days or so. These products also cause cuts and irritations and which can be severe if mistakenly applied on the eye area or other mucous membranes.
